I do not understand the reasoning for putting the three meditation-guidance audios (#18, #19, #20) at "9 Feb 1973 to 14 Apr 1973". The usual format for those kind of meditation-guidances is to be given on some of the same days as when the lectures are. Why is it possible that these specific three would be in an altogether different, earlier camp? A camp where, btw., there are already two separate meditation-guidance audios. --Sugit (talk) 12:03, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

Paragraphs two to four in "Remarks" attempt to deal with this. Basically, it is proposed that a) we don't know at which camp the SS meditation guidance talks were given, so the date range includes the two camps. And b) the meditation-guidance talks for Alchemy were given at Anandhshila, per Alchemy's Appendix, so it in fact even seems more likely that SS's analogous talks were likewise. There are nine hours of such talks in English at Anandshila and even with SS and Sapt Dwar's five such talks combined, they would only come to about two and a half hours. And no English med-guidance talks at Mt Abu, so why should there be any in Hindi? It actually seems almost compelling to me to apply the parallelism with Alchemy and make it so but we don't know, so both camps are left as a possibility for SS.

The question of why it is all so messy and unclear is of course unanswered, but it is messy and unclear no matter how you cut it. Perhaps once the decision to throw all the English Anandshila med-guidance talks into an Appendix in Alchemy is made, any disposition of the analogous Hindi talks will be messy. -- doofus-9 (talk) 16:22, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

I guess the Dutch proverb "One loony can ask more questions than 1000 wise men can answer" applies here. Thanks. --Sugit (talk) 17:57, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

No worries mate. Some of your questions have opened up new areas of learning. Not always easy to see which ones will do that. -- doofus-9 (talk) 08:03, 23 August 2015 (UTC)

OK, so I listened, well, spot-checked all 20 Sadhana Sutra mp3s from OshoWorld-Hindi, and compared them with The New Alchemy #1-17 from OshoWorld-English. (The New Alchemy #18-34 were in the same camp as Samadhi Ke Sapt Dwar (समाधि के सप्त द्वार), see there.)

Sadhana Sutra #1-17 all start with Hindi text, and after about 2/3 of the time the audio continues with the corresponding The New Alchemy. (#17 has about 1/2 English text.)
So #1 contains The New Alchemy #1, i.e. the preface of the book, #2 contains #2, i.e. chapter 1 of the book etc., until #7 contains #7 i.e. chapter 6 and 7. Then #8 contains #8 i.e. chapter 8 etc until #17.
The Sadhana Sutra lectures #2-17 end with something like "Now we will start our meditation...", sometimes some more of Osho explaining the meditation, but never more than a few lines.
The New Alchemy audio #2-7 do contain, at the end, Osho leading the complete meditation. This he always does in mixed English and Hindi, so no separate English/Hindi instructions. In audios #8-17 these are missing, at least parly cut out of the audio, and maybe not completely recorded.
So the conclusion is that all of these 17 discourses consist of three parts:
  • First the Hindi lecture, i.e. Sadhana Sutra.
  • Second the English lecture, i.e. The New Alchemy (#1-17). Could it be that this English part has the same general content as the Hindi before it?
  • Third, all meetings but the first end with a meditation, as heard in the "Now we will start..." in the Sadhana Sutra lectues. Six of The New Alchemy mp3s end with a complete meditation, see above.
About OshoWorld Hindi audio Sadhana Sutra #18-20 :
  • #18 is named -Dynamic 1, but is in fact Tratak, and it is the same as with The New Alchemy #5.
  • #19 is named -Dynamic 2. It is the exact same as #20, but has 45 seconds less recording.
  • #20 is named -Tratak, but it is in fact Dynamic, and it is the same as with The New Alchemy #2.
Listening to the audio of The New Alchemy it is clear that there are quite a lot of differences with the book (1978 edition, the CD-ROM has the same text as that book). Apart from many small edits, whole paragraphs are missing, I heard some 6 of those and I only spot-checked.
