Talk:Satya Ke Agyat Sagar Ka Amantran (सत्य के अज्ञात सागर का आमंत्रण)

Old:

Citations of the title are few. Neeten's Osho Source Book mentions it in only two places in his Jabalpur section, re-citing Gyan Bhed and Prasad, who both mention it in their books. The latter may be more significant, as Prasad includes it in his list of Osho's books he quotes from often enough to merit a special list of abbreviations for footnotes. See Talk:Rajneesh: The Mystic of Feeling for more on that. Still, we cannot be sure even whether there is more than one discourse or not.

Amantran also surfaces, sort of, as a chapter title, even an audio offering, in Path Ki Khoj but the catch is this surfacing may be only quasi- or crypto-, as it is only in one place and may be in error. But it also appears in Shailendra's PDF and on Oshoganga, see Path's discussion page for more details. -- doofus-9 (talk) 14:25, 20 January 2015 (PST)

June 2017 update:

Since Osho's brother Shailendra has supplied a scan of the cover and pub info page, its existence is decently established. Beyond that, Prasad's mentions lend it a bit more cachet, and a second edition of 5000 copies indicates a significant lifespan before it got shlepped up into Path Ki Khoj, which data have also got more solid. -- doofus-9 00:21, 30 June 2017 (UTC)

and a further update

It will be observed that the second edition was printed in January 1970 with the name Bhagwan, which name Osho only got in early 1971. Shailendra's educated guess regarding this:

Inside the booklet Acharya Rajneesh is printed. 1000 copies may have been sold in a year. Then the name was changed. Osho must have asked to replace the cover, so the cover has the new name Bhagwan in remaining 4000 copies. Note the accuracy of N with Halant [aka virama, the " ्" diacritic under the last character cancelling its inherent vowel].
Another evidence -- with the time passing, and replacement of cover, price is changed, see the price stamp. Similar things happened in Poona-2 phase with name changes -- stickers were used.
In general, if 3000 copies printed, 500 were made ready to be sold, rest 2500 were preserved as CUT and UNCUT books. when the time came, 500 were made ready again.

This explains the anomaly of "Bhagwan" in this apparent edition. Then we have a "real" cover, recently sent by Bhagawati, which is likely the one replaced by the plain one analyzed above. It has "Acharya Rajneesh" on the remarkable colour cover. Inside the cover, the book has an owner's name written, "RD Patel". Patel is a very common Gujarati name, and Osho attracted a great many Gujaratis early on. Nothing conclusive and nbd, but this RD Patel may have been Sheela's father. -- doofus-9 17:50, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
