Talk:Sukh Aur Shanti ~ 06

There are three reasonable possibilities for the situation this event is in:

1. Some detail in this event's time is wrong.
2. Some detail in the other event's time is wrong.
3. Both are right, and they are the same event.

The other event is Shiksha Mein Kranti ~ 03. The provenance of most of that book's discourses is as yet unknown but this is one of the rare ones, with its time and location enshrined in the CD-ROM, having made it into an early translation, Revolution in Education, as ch 4. The CD-ROM is not infallible but has as good a record as any source, so we do not choose possibility #2 lightly.

Jagdish's record with Dates and Places is not too bad either, so option #1 is also not compelling at this point. This chapter is out of chronological order relative to the other known chapters, but that is far from sufficient to indicate an error.

It should be noted that the "some detail" that could be wrong in #1 or #2 could be as small as an aspect of the "pm". Both events could be at night, one an ordinary "pm", ie early evening, and the other later in the evening, aka "xm". The locations are close enough, if not identical, to make this feasible. They are just described in different terms, but at most they are a walking distance apart. The venues are not known with sufficient precision to be clearer than that. If this both-in-the-evening scenario is the case, we may never know which one came first and may have to decide arbitrarily.

The 3rd possibility is intriguing and is favoured for now, if only for aesthetic reasons. Some research into the text will settle that one way or the other. For now, this event is not entered in the 1967 Timeline. Should the events be indeed different, the "minimal error" view in the previous paragraph will get adopted. -- doofus-9 17:09, 19 March 2019 (UTC)

Research into the text done by Antar now suggests that these are different events, which brings us back to considering that the two events may well be on the same night in the same place but one before the other, so that the second one should really be thought of as "xm" rather than "pm". Which one? For now we have consulted the coin-flipping oracle and left the Shiksha event as the first in the evening and also left them both as "pm?" in the Timeline. Stay tuned! -- doofus-9 08:10, 2 October 2019 (UTC)
