Rajneeshpuram city officials

Rajneeshpuram swore in its first mayor and council members on August 11, 1982. While serving in their city posts, sannyasin politicians have remained active in other Rajneeshee enterprises. The roster of incumbent city officials includes:
Mayor: Krishna Deva, 36, also known as David Berry Knapp, a Chicago native and former California real estate broker. Deva was sworn in as mayor August 11, 1982. He is a Rajneeshpuram Peace Force reservist and a trustee of the Rajneesh Financial Services Trust. He dropped out of the Rajneesh Neo-Sannyas International Commune December 28, 1983.
City Council:
Anand Durga, 38, a native of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, also known as Ineke Lya Groenteman. A former social worker, she is coordinator of the commune’s private security force and last year was a founding director of Rajneesh Licensing International B.V.i.o. in the Netherlands.
Prem Patipada, 38, a native of Mineola, New York, also known as Mary Ann Young. She is a trustee of the Rajneesh Trust, a director of Rajneesh Medical Corp., the Air Rajneesh operations director and a Rajneeshpuram Peace Force reservist. She is an arihanta, one kind of minister in the Rajneeshee church.
Deva Rikta, 37, a native of Dallas, Texas, also known as Phyllis Aylward Caldwell. A former teacher in Texas, Rikta is now a Rajneeshpuram Peace Force reservist, manager of Zorba the Buddha Restaurant in Rajneeshpuram and administrator of the Rajneesh Jewelry and Fine Arts Trust. She also is an arihanta in the Rajneeshee church.
Deva Jayamala, 54, a native of Seattle, also known as Gloria Sargent. She is a member of the commune and a reservist in the Rajneeshpuram Peace Force. Jayamala also is the clerk for the Rajneeshpuram Municipal Court.
Municipal Judge: Prem Homa, 31, a native of Camden, New Jersey, also known as Michele Therese Mannel. She is a director of Rajneesh Medical Corp., a Class A member of Rajneesh Foundation International and office manager of Rajneesh Legal Services Corp. She was commune president from January 1, 1982, until May 22, 1983. Homa also is an arihanta in the Rajneeshee church.
City Attorney: Prem Sangeet, 33, a native of Roseburg, also known as Therese Marie Wandling. She started practicing law in California in 1976 and joined the Oregon State Bar in 1982. She was a founding director of Alchemy Stone Inc., a Rajneeshee company in Berkeley, California. She is an acharya, another kind of minister in the Rajneeshee church.
City Recorder: Sat Prabodhi, 34, a native of Port Chester, New York, also known as Joan Hilary Stanton. She once taught in a Bellevue, Washington, high school. Prabodhi is commune treasurer, a trustee of the Rajneesh Jewelry and Fine Arts Trust and a trustee of the Rajneesh Modern Car Collection Trust.
