This volume is part of a 6-volume edition of Ashtavakra: Mahageeta (अष्‍टावक्र : महागीता) (series), each volume having 15 discourses except the last, which has 16. See discussion for a TOC.

The series was first published as a nine-volume set under title Mahageeta, each volume having ten discourses except the last, which has eleven. Thus, this volume corresponds to Mahageeta, Bhag 7 (महागीता, भाग सात) of that set, plus the first half of Bhag 8.

Chapters 1-8 and ch 9-15 were later published as separate volumes with new titles which are not currently known.
