This volume is part of a 6-volume edition of Ashtavakra: Mahageeta (अष्‍टावक्र : महागीता) (series). This volume has 16 discourses, all the rest have 15. See discussion for a TOC.

The series was first published as a nine-volume set under title Mahageeta, each volume having ten discourses except the last, which has eleven. Thus, this volume corresponds to the second half of Mahageeta, Bhag 8 (महागीता, भाग आठ) of that set, plus all of Bhag 9.

Chapters 1-8 and ch 9-16 were later published separately with new titles, which are currently unknown
