Lyrics - English
There was a little woman, who knitted a man.
She always was alone and thought: 'What is the good of that?'
She knitted first his tiny ears, his eyes and then his mouth.
She went on with his little nose, his chin and then his neck.
Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho

She knitted a nice body and thought: 'Well, that is done.'
She crocheted in a hurry a nice flowered altar.
She married in the morning and thought: 'I call him Harry.'
Together they had baked cake, together they drank some wine
Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho

She thought: 'We go on honeymoon', put Harry in her bag.
She walked along green meadows and sat down at a lake.
She took him in her arms and sang him a song.
Together they had lemonade from a bottle with a straw.
Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho

She thought: 'The rain is coming, I hope I make it home.
Lets hurry home and get nice and early into bed.'
And in the bedstead pretty soon they became good friends,
But when she got up in the morning she just found woollen threads.
Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho

She thought: 'Oh what a pity, we've had so much fun,
But somewhere around the house there still ought to be some wool.'
She said: 'Beloved Harry, we loved each other dearly.
Don’t be angry that nevertheless I'm going to change man.
Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho

'Cause as long as there's still wool around I just make another one.'
