there are alternatives for just about everything, so eg <nowiki>|</nowiki> could be more compact as {{!}}. --Sarlo

where exactly did you see this? looks more like advanced templating.--Rudra (talk) 18:07, 13 January 2015 (PST)

[1] section 2 is a pipe syntax tutorial and 2.1 a subsection specifically dealing with "rendering pipe itself." Four ways! (After the odd bit on "format," which didn't illuminate anything for me.) Not any kind of templating, but seeing now the preview after taking out the "extra" nowikis you inserted, i see where you got that idea. And looking closely at their example, it looks a bit flawed: first word in each row has got lost, and the first pipe as well. I guess they have created a template called "!" for this purpose. Maybe the special characters would be better. -- doofus-9 (talk) 19:56, 13 January 2015 (PST)

The same terms also come out bold in the end product as well, except for "book" and "description", which do not appear.
it's out of place--Rudra (talk) 03:04, 14 January 2015 (PST)

The field "publisher" of Template:Bookedition. The Help says: "Publisher, city, country". Is it good and right?

this field is a reference to the name of publisher to the appropriate category "Books - Publication & Retail". And as we see (if we look at it :-) ) that almost all names of publishers have names without name of city and country.

please clarify how to correctly fill in the field. And a related question: for languages different from Latin languages (Latin alphabet) how to correctly specify any publisher? First - transliteration, like in book titles. And here you should to specify a short name of a publisher? In brackets you can specify the full name? Here's an example for clarity:

Full name: ООО Издательство "София"

Sofia (ООО Издательство "София") ??

OOO Izdatel'stvo "Sofija" (ООО Издательство "София") ??

OOO Izdatel'stvo "Sofija" (ООО Издательство "София"), Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation ??

i've put (city, country) now in brackets. Some publishers show this info in the book. Some publishers have several branches around the world. In these cases we can show that info.

--Rudra (talk) 01:00, 3 June 2017 (UTC)

please, tell HOW right indicate publisher names for Russian publishers. it must contain the transcription.

for example, a book says: М.: АСТ.

М. = Москва (Moscow).

"АСТ" is Russian abbreviation, it matches english transliteration "AST".

How mention this publisher?

Now all of the publisher field contains a link. If any book does not contain publisher (such cases happen), then there is nothing to indicate and will display [[ ]], or to put a question mark (he will also the red link). --DhyanAntar 06:18, 4 June 2017 (UTC)

show the publisher page as AST (ACT) = transliteration (Russian)

if the book shows "ACT bla bla", make a redirect page "ACT bla bla" to "AST (ACT)"

please look through the english books to see how we do publisher redirects. --Rudra (talk) 10:56, 4 June 2017 (UTC)

thank you. --DhyanAntar 12:18, 4 June 2017 (UTC)

No Section Editing

How and why is it that there is no section-editing on this page? -- doofus-9 02:01, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
