Kyo (group)

Kyo was a five-day Pune One non-residential meditation group led by person(s) unknown. The Community to Provoke God brochure had this to say as a brief description:

In zen terminology, Kyo means total emptiness, the perfect state of awareness. This five day group combines zen meditations with bodywork, cleansing both mind and body to achieve an experience of kyo.

"Kyo" as a Japanese word means "emptiness". It is not the name of a style or type of meditation there. Interestingly, as a Korean word, it means scripture or doctrine, and is often contrasted with "son", their word for meditation which, like "zen", derives from the Chinese "chan", which in turn derives from the Indian (Sanskrit) "dhyan".

According to the groups timeline chart in The Sound of Running Water, Kyo was offered from Aug 1977 to Mar 1978, TSORW's cut-off date. It may well have continued past that date too.
