Letter written on 15 Dec 1960 pm

This is one of hundreds of letters Osho wrote to Ma Anandmayee, then known as Madan Kunwar Parakh. It was written on 15th December 1960 in the afternoon and PS at night on his personal letterhead stationery of the day: The top left corner reads: Rajneesh / Darshan Vibhag (Philosophy Dept) / Mahakoshal Mahavidhalaya (Mahakoshal University). The top right reads: Nivas (Home) / Yogesh Bhavan, Napiertown / Jabalpur (M.P.). Many of his letters on this letterhead have had the number 115 added in by hand before "Yogesh Bhavan" to complete his address; this is one of them. The paper the letterhead of sheet with PS is printed on has a watermark, "JUPITER BOND", may help to identify vintages.

As with a number of letters of this vintage, there is a blue number (6) in a circle in the top right corner on both sheets, and sheet with PS has the red tick mark above Osho's salutation -- "प्रिय मां", Priya Maan, Dear Mom -- that some of them have. There is additionally a pale blue "7" (not in a circle) in the middle of the page with PS.

This letter has been published, in Bhavna Ke Bhojpatron Par Osho (भावना के भोजपत्रों पर ओशो) on p 69 and 68 as two separate letters (2002 Diamond edition).

(पुनश्च: प्रिय मां, अर्धरात्रि। अंधेरे रास्तों पर घूमकर लौटा हूँ। सब चुप और मौन है। कभी-कभार बस कोई कुत्ता भोंक जाता है। मौन उससे टूटता नहीं और घना हो जाता है। तारे ठंडे है और निःशब्द संगति से भरे हैं। यह गहरी निस्तब्धता मुझे बहुत प्रिय है। मैं अपने में होआता हूँ। मौन मुझे भीतर खींच लेता है। यह 'प्रतिबोध' है। मैं अपने को छूलेता हूँ और सब कुछ मुझे छूजाता है। इस गहराई में अनेकता नहीं दीखती। भेद ऊपर है : ऊपरी है। भीतर अभेद है और अभेद ही सत्य है। "तत्वमसि श्वेतकेतु!" श्वेतकेतु वह तू ही है! यह महाकाव्य पुन: पुन: सुनाई देता है। जीवन एक संगीत है। खंडित स्वर – व्यक्ति-स्वर, में दुख है। अखंडता आनंद है। उपनिषद् कहते हैं : "वह कवि है। यह सृष्टि उसका काव्य है।" इस काव्य में अपने को खो देना ही सब कुछ पालेना है। रजनीश के प्रणाम १५.१२.६० रात्रि
