In PS of this letter from Gadarwara Osho writes: "You were seen yesterday night - are together like a subtle flavor since the morning itself. सुबह घूमकर लौटा था। नदी तट पर एक झरने से मिलना हुआ है। राह के सूखे पत्तों को हटाकर वह छोटा सा झरना नदी की ओर भाग रहा था। उसकी दौड़ देखी और फिर नदी में उसका आनंदपूर्ण मिलन भी देखा। फिर देखा कि नदी भी भाग रही है। | |||
फिर देखा कि सब कुछ भाग रहा है! सागर से मिलने के लिए, असीम में खोने के लिए, पूर्ण को पाने के लिए समस्त जीवन राह के सूखे-मृत पत्तों को हटाता हुआ भागा जारहा है। | |||
सीमा दुख है; अपूर्णता दुख है, होना दुख है। जीवन इस दुख-बोध को पार करना चाहता है। स्व विसर्जन से – ‘मैं’ को खो देने से – सीमा को असीम में, बूंद को सागर में मिला देने से दुख मिट जाता है और वह उपलब्ध होता है जो आनंद है। | |||
यह अभुत विरोधाभास है। ‘मैं’ जबतक हूँ तबतक दुख है : ‘मैं’ नहीं उसदिन आनंद है। जीसस क्राइस्ट का एक वचन याद आता है : ‘जो जीवन को बचाता है, वह खोदेता है : जो खोता है वह पाजाता है।’ | |||
यह खोना ही प्रेम है। इससे मैं कहता हूँ : प्रेम जीवन है : प्रेम-अभाव मृत्यु है। | |||

This is one of hundreds of letters Osho wrote to Ma Anandmayee, then known as Madan Kunwar Parakh. It was written on 22 May 1962 in afternoon in Gadarwara.
This letter has been published in Krantibeej (क्रांतिबीज) as letter 27 (edited and trimmed text) and later in Bhavna Ke Bhojpatron Par Osho (भावना के भोजपत्रों पर ओशो) on p 125 (2002 Diamond edition).
