This is one of hundreds of letters Osho wrote to [[Ma Anandmayee]], then known as Madan Kunwar Parekh. It was written on 5th August 1961. The letterhead has a simple "रजनीश" (Rajneesh) in the top left area, in a heavy but florid font, and "115, Napier Town, Jabalpur (M.P.) in the top right, in a lighter but still somewhat florid font.

Osho's salutation in this letter is just plain "मां", Maan, Mom or Mother. It has a few of the hand-written marks that have been observed in other letters: a blue number (13) in a circle in the top right corner, a red tick mark and a couple of pale blue marks of uncertain significance. And it has a blue tick mark at the very top.

मां,
दिवस जा चुका है। संध्या का आकश नीले-लाल रंगों से भरा हुआ है। शुभ्र बगुलों की एक पंक्ति तैरती निकल जाती है।

दूर दूर तक पहाडियां हरी होउठीं हैं। राह चुक गई है : नदी-सेतु आगया है। नर्मदा पूर में उफनती भागी जा रही है।

एक मित्र साथ हैं। खोये से – अपने में बंद। यह अपार सौंदर्य उनके लिए नहीं है!

विचार बाधायें हैं। उनकी निद्रा में सत्य से, सौंदर्य से, शुभ से हम वंचित रह जाते हैं। प्रभु सदा निकट होता है पर हम आंखे बंद किए ही जीवन बिता देते हैं।

सत्य को देख पाने को एक सरल, दर्पण सा साफ, मन चाहिए फिर तो आंख उठाते ही सब कुछ मिल जाता है।

सत्य दूर नहीं है हम ही अपने हाथों सत्य से दूर होगए हैं। विचार-विचार-विचार – खूब धूल इकठ्ठी हो जाती है और दर्पण ढंक जाता है। जरा सा पोंछ देने की बात है और निर्मल झील में जैसे तारें झलक आते हैं वैसे ही सत्य हमारा होआता है।
