Letter written on 8 Jun 1961

This is one of hundreds of letters Osho wrote to Ma Anandmayee, then known as Madan Kunwar Parakh. It was written on 8th June 1961 in Gadarwara. The letterhead has a simple "रजनीश" (Rajneesh) in the top left area, in a heavy but florid font, and "115, Napier Town, Jabalpur (M.P.) in the top right, in a lighter but still somewhat florid font.

Osho's salutation in this letter is "पूज्य मां", Pujya Maan, Revered Mother, normal for this period. There is a blue number (4) in a circle in the top right corner, a red tick mark and a pale blue figure of unknown significance.

This letter is written from Gadarwara saying that the stay of 10 days were delightful at Pachmarhi. In last para, Osho informs Ma the temporary mailing address as he would be staying there up to 30th Jun.: Rajneesh C/o: Vijay Gruh Nirman Samagri Bhandar (Gadarwara). Vijay is one of Osho's brother, who owns this shop.

रजनीश ११५, नेपियर टाउन जबलपुर (म. प्र.) पूज्य मां, प्रणाम। मैं आशा करता हूँ कि मेरे पत्र के पहुँचते आप निश्चय ही चांदा सकुशल पहुँच गई होंगी। पचमढ़ी सुखद रही है और इन दस दिनों की भीनी सी स्मृति साथ चली आई है। प्रकृति के वैभव और सौन्दर्य में कैसी एक ईश्वरीयता है? क्षुद्र से उठकर जैसे अचानक ही विराट से मिलन होजाता है। जो दूर दूर भटकने पर नहीं मिलता है वह निकट ही बहते किसी झरने में, हवाओं में झुलते किसी लताकुंज में उपलब्ध होजाता है। ‘उस का’ मंदिर कण-कण में बना हुआ है : दृष्टि भर चाहिए फिर उसे कहीं नहीं जाना होता है। उसे पाने को किसी को कुछ करना नहीं है। केवल अपने मन के बन्द द्वार खोलने भर हैं : द्वार खुलते ही वह युग-युगांतरों से प्रतीक्षित अतिथि प्रकाश की भांति क्षण भर भी देर किये बिना भीतर चला आता है। मैं आशा करता हूँ कि उस अतिथि के साक्षात में देरी नहीं है। ध्यान एकमात्र मार्ग है। चली चलें – रुकें नहीं – मिलन सुनिश्चित है। xxx श्री पारख जी को मेरे विनम्र प्रणाम कहें। गुरूजी और सबको भी। सुशीला, प्रभा, सरला, प्रदीप और पदम को स्नेह। यहां सब आपकी याद करते हैं और आशा में थे कि आप भी साथ आरही हैं। मैं ३० जुन तक यहां हूँ तबतक के लिए मेरा पता है : रजनीश, C/o. विजय गृह निर्माण सामग्री भंडार, गाडरवारा (म.प्र.) जिला : नरसिंहपुर (म.प्र.)। दवा ले रहा हूँ : समाप्त होने के पूर्व और भेजदें। शेष शुभ। पत्र की प्रतिक्षा है : डायरी में रखा पत्र मिल गया है। ८ जून. ‘६१ गाडरवारा (मप्र.) रजनीश के प्रणाम

Partial translation

"Pranam – I hope by the time my letter reaches, you must have reached Chanda well. Pachmadhi has been very pleasant and the fresh memories of this ten days have come along."
