Letter written on 9 Sep 1962 pm

This is one of hundreds of letters Osho wrote to Ma Anandmayee, then known as Madan Kunwar Parakh. It was written on 9th September 1962 in the evening. The letterhead has a simple "रजनीश" (Rajneesh) in the top left area, in a heavy but florid font, and "115, Napier Town, Jabalpur (M.P.) in the top right, in a lighter but still somewhat florid font.

Osho's salutation in this letter is a fairly typical "प्रिय मां", Priya Maan, Dear Mom. There are a few of the hand-written marks that have been observed in other letters: red and black tick marks in the top right corner and a mirror-image number in the bottom right corner. As with other recent letters, there are actually two numbers there, one crossed out (129) and replaced by a pink number, 131.

The letter has been published, in Bhavna Ke Bhojpatron Par Osho (भावना के भोजपत्रों पर ओशो) (2002 Diamond edition), on p 155.

In PS Osho writes: "Seen you yesterday night. How is the health? Should I come there for a day or so?"

रजनीश ११५, नेपियर टाउन जबलपुर (म.प्र.) प्रिय मां, आकाश बहुत दिनों बाद खुला है। तारे छिटके हैं और बगिया में चांदनी फैली है। झींगुरों के गीत सुनता सुनता अभी भीतर आया हूँ। दस बजे हैं। घंटा-घर की घड़ी घंटे बजा कर चुप होगई है। इस सन्नाटेटे को चीरकर अचानक एक बांसुरी बजने लगी है। उसके स्वर तैरते हुए शून्य में डूबते जाते हैं। शून्य से सब उठता है और फिर शून्य में खोजाता है। और जहां शून्य है, वहीं सत्य है। कल यही कहीं कहा हूँ। समस्त गति के पीछे शून्य है, समस्त क्रिया के पीछे शून्य है। परिधि पर क्रिया है, केन्द्र पर शून्य है। परिधि संसार है। इसमें ही उलझकर जीवन बीत जाता है। पर परिधि के प्रति जो जागता है वह शून्य को पाजाता है। जागना शून्यको पालेना है। यही प्रथम और अंतिम मुक्ति है। रजनीश के प्रणाम रात्रि: ९ सित. १९६२ पुनश्च: कल रात्रि तुम्हें देखा हूँ। तबियत कैसी है? क्या एकाध दिन के लिए मैं आऊँ?
