Letter written on Dec 1960

This is one of hundreds of letters Osho wrote to Ma Anandmayee, then known as Madan Kunwar Parakh. It is undated, est. date is 16-26 Dec 1960 (about the period see discussion), and written on his letterhead stationery of the day: The top left corner reads: Rajneesh / Darshan Vibhag (Philosophy Dept) / Mahakoshal Mahavidhalaya (Mahakoshal University). The top right reads: Nivas (Home) / 115, Yogesh Bhavan, Napiertown / Jabalpur (M.P.). The "115" can be seen to be handwritten.

In addition to the text of the letter, there is a blue handwritten "5" in a circle above the top right stationery block, and a red tick mark below the top left block and above Osho's salutation, "प्रिय मां", Priya Maan, Dear Mom.

This letter has been published, in Bhavna Ke Bhojpatron Par Osho (भावना के भोजपत्रों पर ओशो) on p 65 (2002 Diamond edition).

रजनीश दर्शन विभाग महाकोशल महाविद्यालय निवास: ११५ , योगेश भवन, नेपियरटाउन जबलपुर (म. प्र.) प्रिय मां, पद-स्पर्श। आपका पत्र मिला। स्नेह में भींगकर शब्द कैसे जीवित होआते हैं – यह आपके प्रेम से भरे हृदय से निकले शब्दों को देखकर अनुभव होता है। शब्द अपने में तो मृत हैं; प्रीति उनमें प्राण डाल देती है। इस तरह प्रीति- सिक्त होकर वे अभिमंत्रित हो जाते हैं। काव्य का जन्म ऐसी ही अनुभूति से होता है। मेरे लिए आशीर्वाद-रूप कुछ गीत-पंक्तिया आपने लिखीं हैं। इन पंक्तियों ने मुझे छू लिया है। पढ़ा : समाधिस्त होआया। .......... देर तक सब कुछ मिटा रहा ...... मैं भी नहीं था। कुछ भी नहीं था। ....... पर न होना ही जीवन को उपलब्ध करना है। ..... होना दुख है। होना सीमा है। समग्र धर्म -- समग्र कला -- समग्र दर्शन इस शून्यता को पाने के लिए ही हैं। शून्यता शून्य नहीं है : वही पूर्णता है। न कुछ, सब कुछ है। इसलिए ही शास्त्र कहते हैं की पाना है जीवन, तो जीवन को छोड़ना होता है। xxx मैं आनंद में हूँ या ज्यादा ठीक हो कि कहूँ मैं आनंद ही हूँ। श्री फड़के गुरूजी का पत्र भी मिला। उन्हें मेरे प्रणाम कहें। प्रिय शारदा बहिन को बहुत बहुत स्नेह। रजनीश के प्रणाम
