Back cover:
In 1976 Osho asked Madhuri to write a book called "Mistakes on the Path". Here it is.
Born into a large, shambolic family in Southern California, Madhuri and her younger sister took off as teenagers on a series of adventures that culminated in India in 1973. There they became disciples of the controversial mystic Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (later known as Osho). Madhuri describes her 30 extraordinary years in Osho’s communes in Poona, India and Rajneeshpuram, USA. Internally she confronted her OCD, anorexia and sex addiction; externally, relationships, the power clique who ran the Oregon Commune, and the general snafus life throws our way.
Confronted with one of the most fundamental questions of the spiritual journey: pushing the river vs. letting it flow - doing vs. non-doing - she emerges as a respected Intuitive healer and teacher. Madhuri now travels the world giving sessions and teaching workshops.
Shocking, funny, sad, and transcendentally joyful, this book gives a taste of life in a rare milieu; where the essence is spacious silence... and where human foibles rise up to meet it; and are (sometimes) transformed. The ambiance of an enlightened Master, in all its radiance and mystery, is beautifully and sensitively portrayed.
Madhuri lights this firecracker book at both ends. This juicy courageous story of a spiritual journey is one of the top five I have read. ~ Shunyo Mahom, Zen artist and author
Like Ouspensky to Gurdjieff, only more fun! ~ Prakash Mackay, Psychotherapist, MA Diamond Approach Teacher/Minister
This brilliant, ruthless roller coaster ride of a spiritual memoir / thriller was a lesson in how to live poetry. ~ Ma Yoga Punya, author of On the Edge
This devastatingly honest, poetic and delightfully written book entices you into its multidimensional timeline, from the extraordinariness of hippiedom to the exquisite ordinariness of meditation. ~ Svarup, PhD, Osho Primal Therapist
I loved this book! Revolutionary, sensitive and wild. ~ Roger King, author of Warrior of Love, Hay House
