Shaktipat-Dhyan (Energy Meditation)

In 1973, a series of seven unusual meditation events were led by Osho in Mumbai/Bombay. These events happened once a month from Feb 1 to Aug 1, at Birla Kreeda Kendra. Laherubhai reports in his memoir Blessed Moments with Osho that they were on the first day of each of those months, "at 7:30 in the morning, in which about 700 to 800 friends used to take part". He calls these events "shaktipat sessions", or "shaktipat experiments". He says that "During the shaktipat experiments at Birla Kreeda Kendra, Mumbai, people used to express their repressed emotions by shouting, crying loudly, jumping and leaping and laughing uncontrollably".
In March 1973, an extraordinary version of this already extraordinary series occurred. On Mar 12, Osho started a new series of talks on chapter 12 of the classic Bhagavad Geeta, drawing crowds of 30,000 or more people in Cross Maidan in Mumbai. On the 2nd-last regular talk of that series, on Mar 20, he invited people to come the next day, the 20th anniversary of his enlightenment, for an energy experiment on a scale likely never before or since equaled. Laheru reports that some 80-90,000 people showed up and went wild for an hour, with no security!
See Talk:Geeta-Darshan, Adhyaya 12 (गीता-दर्शन, अध्याय १२)#Shaktipat Experiment for Laheru's description of the event.
and Talk:Geeta-Darshan Adhyaya 12 ~ 10 for a rough translation of Osho's instructions on that day.
