(Thomas Carl Utne)

Nirvesh was an editor at New Age Journal and in 1984 helped launch the Utne Reader with his brother Eric. He took sannyas at the First Annual World Celebration and died during the Third Annual World Celebration from a severe anaphylactic reaction to a peanut sauce. According to his brother's autobiography Far Out Man, Nirvesh was declared to have died enlightened, by virtue of dying within 24 miles of Osho, and his ashes, from the first cremation handled by the Ranch's new crematorium, were placed in a small grave between those for the "Prince of Germany" and Osho's father.

His death was a big story in the Rajneesh Times issue of Jul 13 1984 as part of their coverage of the Celebration.
