Asheesh studied engineering in Milan but soon became a carpenter as he loved working with wood. (Osho said wood loved working with him.) He took sannyas in Feb 1975, was soon invited to live in Lao Tzu House, put in charge of the mala shop, where Osho's malas and other fine wood-working products were crafted. He made Osho’s chairs and other furniture for his room.

At [[The Castle|the New Jersey Castle]] and the Ranch, he learned how to use a knitting machine and made Osho's knitted robes, hats and socks, all-new products never before needed in Pune.
