The Times does offer an OCR, but after correcting that I am not sure if simply typing it over wouldn't have been faster :-)

I will add some more material and commentary, and then will ask you guys to comment about structure and details. --Sugit (talk) 12:24, 25 June 2019 (UTC)

Version 1 now ready. Please comment. Is the page too long? Is my commentary not too much, Wiki-wise? --Sugit (talk) 20:30, 25 June 2019 (UTC)

When happened what?

Bernard Levin writes in The Times on Tuesday, April 8, 1980:
"I have to say, after spending several days at the Rajneesh Ashram last year, and after a further visit last week (when I discovered that the Mercedes has now been replaced by an immense white Rolls Royce), that I am not in the least surprised."
From Osho's discourse, answering the colleague journalist Peter Jenkins, it is clear that Levin's visit included 7th January 1979.
Would it be normal for an newspaper article to be written in such a way, I mean, writing "last week", when that was in fact several months earlier?
Ah, now I see, I have been mixed up all the time. I assumed that Levin's last visit was in January 1980, but instead his first visit was in January 1979, and this first visit is also the one reported by Krishna Prem. This also fits with KP's chapter title: "1978 - 1979". And it fit's with the fact that KP does not mention any earlier visit of Levin. The second visit, if that "a further visit last week" is correct, must then have been in the week of March 31 to April 6. --Sugit (talk) 10:44, 30 June 2019 (UTC)

"Golden Guru"

The Guardian's obit for Osho is astonishingly mediocre, setting a new standard of yellow journalism, or urinalism. Osho has certainly given his critics lots of material to work with, enough to fill a whole issue of the Guardian, if they had wanted to, so devoting half of their already short obit to Hitch on Levin is pretty bizarre. Very unprofessional. -- doofus-9 18:59, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
