Concerning the transliteration of "ਧਿਆਨ", G**gle Translate has supplied two different versions for the three Osho Punjabi books with this word, rendering it as "Dhian" twice and "Dhyan" once. Since knowledge of Punjabi usage is non-existent here, some sort of similarity to Hindi usage is assumed, but that still leads to two different results so they are both being used, per this analysis / caveat:

The first characters suggest, based on the resemblance in form to Devanagari forms, that it's Dhian. There is the "Dh" consonant letter, with an apparent "i" diacritic, ie strongly resembling the "i" diacritic in Devanagari. OTOH . . .

The sequence "ia" would be very unusual in transliterating Hindi. It would represent two syllables and be done as "iya", as in "Dhiyan". When only one syllable is pronounced, "Dhy" would be used in Hindi. "Y", as used in Devanagari transliteration, is only a consonant. These considerations would lead to "Dhyan".

Perhaps a real Punjabi speaker can tell us. Meanwhile, it is what it is. -- doofus-9 07:01, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
