Talk:Kathopanishad (कठोपनिषद)

Dates (and place) given for Kathopanishad talks are from both "Doc X" and Neeten's Osho Source Book and must be considered fairly solid except that the number of discourses (17) suggests an extra day, the usual pattern of that era's camps being one discourse the first day and two each of the other days. And since the start date is usually right, any putative extra day would be the 14th. If there is no extra day, which seems not at all unlikely, there remains the puzzle of which day(s) had the two extra discourses.

Searching for more clues i looked at the freebie audios on offer at Osho World and found the discourses were all of a decent length, ie not a couple of shorties that could be squeezed in. First night was almost two hours, the others all in the range of 1:00 to 1:26. In addition, there were a couple of audios of Osho leading meditations, one of Tratak and one Dynamic, that don't seem to be in the wiki archive yet. They run over a half-hour each. -- updated doofus-9 (talk) 16:55, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

All above is rendered useless by a new improved reading of Neeten. Doc X has Oct 6-13 which is potentially problematic but Neeten actually has Oct 5-13, which fits the 17-talk format well. So forget the 14th. -- doofus-9 04:55, 27 March 2016 (UTC)

Titles in the text-TOC above and 1992 TOC are identical, save a couple of ligatures. Well done! And no ISBN was found in the 1992 edition scans we received but it is not unlikely that the ISBN of the later Rebel editions applies here too. -- doofus-9 05:00, 13 August 2017 (UTC)

I'm looking in the book and listening to the Hindi audio. I'd say the text strongly suggests 1x evening meditation, and then 8 days with a morning and evening lecture. All lectures (and chapters) seem complete and are long enough. Every single lecture ends with "Now, get ready for the meditation.". It's not always certain, but where known it's always Dynamic in the morning and Tratak in the evening.

It was possible to identify the two separate Meditation Extracts (OshoWorld audio numbered as #18/Dynamic and #19/Tratak): they were events directly after #12 and #5 respectively. (Can be heard from Osho's last/first words and a crow calling.) --Sugit (talk) 19:29, 2 January 2016 (UTC)

I agree with #18 = #12.
  1. 19 is Tratak extract. It can be #5 or 7 event (or 13th which not available): result based on first sentence, which can be found only in 5 or 7.--DhyanAntar 12:23, 22 July 2023 (UTC)

Audios #1-3 and 17 have English parts after main talks in Hindi. They are introductories for meditations. It is not included into book (at least not in Shailendra's PDF).--DhyanAntar 11:11, 27 June 2021 (UTC)
