"Alt-facts" refers to some sources attributing publisher status to Rebel Publishing House Pvt Ltd, and the year 2012. No big deal.

The dating guess derives from the introduction to Keerti's book The Osho Way: In Romance with Life. That reads:

Meditation
A Way of Life
It was in 1970 that I read Osho's first article in Dharmayug, a popular Hindi magazine edited by the brilliant Dharamvir Bharti. Dharmayug was famous for presenting revolutionary ideas. Osho was known as Acharya Rajneesh then, and in the same year when he started intitiating people into his Neo-Sannyas, his disciples decided to address him as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. But the newspapers like Dharmayug continued to call him Acharya.
The name of the article was "Kya Manushya Ek Yantra Hai?"
"Is Man a Machine?"
Dharmayug carried a regular column: Dharmacharcha. But I never read this column. The Dharma (religion) I knew was a humbug, and a noisy non-sense and I had become totally disgusted with it. I had stopped going to temples and gurudwaras in my city. But I did not wish to harbour prejudice against anything, and the first time I did decide to read that column, it was this article, "Kya Manushya Ek Yantra Hai?" by Acharya Rajneesh.
The article transformed my idea of Religion or Dharma completely! For the first time I understood the meaning of being religious. In this article, Osho talked about how we live our lives unconsciously like a machine and how we can bring awareness into whatever we do, thereby realizing our Human nature. That, for me, became the foundation for a totally different kind of religiousness which took me a year later to the Master to be initiated into his Neo-Sannyas on September 4, 1971.
Meditation is the foundation of Osho's Neo-Sannyas Movement, and it is a way of life for those who accept his teachings.

This article of course does not necessarily derive from this book, but it is suggestive and worth going with provisionally. -- doofus-9 20:27, 27 January 2017 (UTC)

अनुक्रम (TOC):

1. मनुष्य एक यंत्र है
2. यांत्रिकता को जानना क्रांति है
3. जागरण के सूत्र
4. जाग जाना धर्म है

List Rabia Osho books (source document) says: "KYA MANUSHYA ROG HAI, 1 talk, 14 Oct 1970." Unclear what talk and how it fits in Timeline.--DhyanAntar 06:12, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

Hindi series of talks with dates (source document) has this info as well, but it does not belong in Yantra, despite the similarity of titles. It belongs and fits very well with Naye Manushya Ka Dharm (नये मनुष्य का धर्म). See that book's talk page. -0- doofus-9 21:36, 6 August 2020 (UTC)

Talks were given during four days (Osho says about it himself in discourses) and at least last talk was in evening (the clue is in the end of talk #3). We can conclude that they all were in evenings.--DhyanAntar 05:33, 14 May 2020 (UTC)

Sarlo, what the source of place Cross Maidan of Bombay?

Source Google translation
Manuscripts ~ Reports, from sheets B-3R and B-4R:

Virat satsang in Bombay:

Teacher 20, 21, 22, came to Bombay for 23 May. A huge satsang was held at the cross ground in his company. Thousands of peepasus heard his conscience and were benefited. They always carry an announcement of revolution with them. He said here:
"Life is not sleep. But, we lose it while we sleep. That's why I say that everyone gets the truth but not life. Only those who are able to wake up are able to provide life. This is the method of waking up, religion. Therefore, religion gives new life. Because, on waking, one finds that he is an elixir, he is a soul, he is eternal life himself. So friends, give up sleep and see that which That too I Su. Lets just see him lead lives of thirst. And his philosophy is unveiling the ultimate fulfillment that I say God. "
"The wealth of God is waiting for everyone. But, we waste time in picking pebble stones."

Shailendra's PDF, end of ch.4:

Suffice it to say, it is a sin to be asleep, not to anyone else. And he who sins against himself, of gold, commits sins every day. Waking up is virtue, religion, not someone else, towards ourselves. And the one who is filled with religion towards himself, his life is filled with religion towards all.

God will do it, and from where will God do it? From within you, because that's where it is. A wave of waking, a longing, a thirst arises. It is the same thirst prayer, the same thirst quest, I pray it.

Above it is table of comparison. My feeling is that Reports was written by Osho a little later after talks and he gave his thoughts/memories which form differ from audio transcripts.

OMI e-book gives 1967 year in Copyright info. If place (Cross Maidan) is correct, then these 4 talks can be 20-23 May 1967.

"4 talks taken in these dates (of 1967) called "Swatantrata Ki Or" (स्वतंत्रता की ओर) in a list of Hindi series of talks, provided by Anuragi", see Manuscripts ~ Reports Timeline Extraction. स्वतंत्रता की ओर is ch.3 of Satya Ki Pahli Kiran (सत्य की पहली किरण), which text matches with ch.1 of Kya Manushya Ek Yantra Hai of Shailendra's PDF. This is the same chapter published in Satya Ki Pahli Kiran! Reports extraction is extraction from Manuscript Reports, which quoted above. So, here we have relation of Reports manuscripts with "Swatantrata Ki Or" 4 talks (btw, स्वतंत्रता mentioned 8 times in first chapter of Kya Manushya), which is first talk of this series (Kya Manushya) (this is relation with Satya Ki Pahli Kiran ch.3 and Jagdish condirmes that this is ch.1 of Kya Manushya series). All fits well: 4 talks 4 dates in Reports, in Anuragi's list and 4 talks in 4 chapters.

I will correct Timeline.--DhyanAntar 07:12, 14 May 2020 (UTC)

Great work putting this all together! You ask above, "what the source of place Cross Maidan of Bombay?" I do not remember having any source information here but in any case, we can say that the source info is right in the manuscript report of "Virat satsang in Bombay": "क्रास मैदान" IS Cross Maidan. The G**gle translation mentions "cross ground" ... "ground" is just their translation of "maidan", so it's right there. -0- doofus-9 18:10, 14 May 2020 (UTC)

Also: from Hindi series of talks with dates (source document), a new source for date info, we have four talks called "Swatantrata Ki Or" on those precise dates. Appears to have been an alt-name for a while until Kya Manushya was settled on. -- 18:22, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
