Talk:Naam Sumir Man Bavre (नाम सुमिर मन बावरे)

About Jagjivan (Das), the skimpy article in Wikipedia only has a few bare facts. It seems likely that he was born earlier and wrote a number of important poems and other works, as well as founding or re-focusing the Satnami sect, which, like many since Kabir, attempted to synthesize, cross over and unite the teachings of the major religions. Other than that, stories about him are varied. Searching for Jagjivan Satnami will find a few.

Meanwhile, about the first Diamond edition, that seems to be a bit of a crossover as well. Its cover was found in only a few places, with subtitle much too small to read, except for on the Diamond site itself, but that too only with some blow-up and lots of back-and-forths with a translation tool. What came of that is a pretty good match, it seems to me, and ... it looks like a big mistake was made and they pulled it but neglected to take it down from their site. Besides being about Paltudas -- no, no, no! -- it looks more like the flowery text of a simple book description than a real subtitle should.

And fwiw, how many pages there are is not clear either. The few sites that refer to that ISBN say 328 and the Diamond site says 164, exactly half. Maybe a special edition with only five chapters? This does happen but other sites will usually notice and mention the lower page count too. So there ya go. Ya pays yer money and ya takes yer chances.

A little transliteration note: i am not a big fan of the double-a, as in "Naam," but it seems to get better search results in this case, so there ya go again. -- Sarlo (talk) 15:10, 23 May 2014 (PDT)

6: जीवन सृजन का एक अवसर है
7: नाम बिनु नहिं कोउकै निस्तारा

A couple of small differences were seen between the scanned TOC and the previous TOC. (That was likely from osho.com's audiobook, as it is still there as of this writing, and so will be presumed as the reference.) In ch 4, we had and they have उदघोस instead of उद्घोष, which is in the scanned TOC, in dictionaries and -- bonus! -- it makes sense in this context. And in ch 6 they have inserted एक, which seems harmless enough and may be an improvement, so it has been left as is. -- doofus-9 15:43, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
