It was originally written in the article page that "the crossing-out is what is dated [20 Sep 1971]; thus, the previous 'Sadhvi' name may well have been written well before that. And this would accord with the 'Acharya Rajneesh' in the letterhead, as Osho had changed his name to Bhagwan in Apr or May of that year and would likely not have been using old stationery."

That had been written in an earlier, more ignorant age, when it was assumed that Osho would surely have and use the most up-to-date letterhead, and that the new Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh letterhead would surely have been used, and exclusively, by May or June of that year. We have since learned that a) its earliest use could have been as late as Sep, and b) that he would use old letterhead on occasion as well.

And especially as there apparently was only one Devanagari version ever for his Woodland days, "Acharya" might well have persisted in that context. long past its use-by date.

Thus, we cannot say anything much about the date the "Sadhvi" name was given except that it was before 20 Sep 1971. One indication that it may not have been long before at all is that some versions of the general history of "Sadhu" and "Sadhvi" have this naming practice only beginning at the Mt Abu camp which came AFTER Sep 20.

So lots to learn and explore here. -- doofus-9 08:12, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
