About "informed speculation," a good part of that informedness is in the story of the search for info on this book, so bear with me. The search was at first kept as broad as possible, so as not to miss anything; thus, the search terms were naya/naye manushya osho. A couple of unrelated books turned up but there were only three hits relating to this book: G**gle Books, the old wiki page for this book, and my page on Osho's books, which derived its mention of this book entirely from that old page in the wiki. G**gle and wiki agreed on pub date and the funny lower-case title but not on publisher (actually, imprint, since it's all the same gang in Pune). Remembering G**gle's funny publisher name, Rajanisadhama Prakasana, from its association with a few other obscure books of the same vintage, i took the liberty of choosing that over Rajneesh Foundation.
Next, i noticed the title नए मनुष्य भविष्य की एकमात्र आशा was showing up as an intact ringing phrase in the text of several other Osho Hindi books. (It means, roughly, A New Man, the Only Hope for the Future.) Hmmmm. So it SHOULD be a title, and a recent one at that, ie not from the 60s. And there should be lots of hits. So where's the (tofu) beef?
Okay, in all but the earliest books a complete absence of audio would suggest either a translation of compilation (or both). And the imprint of Rajanisadhama Prakasana is the imprimatur of obscurity. And a translation or compilation of translations fits with their pattern of keeping the Hindi pilot light on while Osho is gallivanting around the world.
Finally, a spark of something from the unknown came. A search for nae (another transliteration) manushya osho led G**gle to desperately turn up (substituting "name" for "nae") an Osho News discourse piece, the quote i used for the book description. And guess what? The source of the quote, The Diamond Sword, turns out to be a translation of Koplen Phir Phoot Aayeen (कोंपलें फिर फूट आईं) and Phir Amrit Ki Boond Padi (फिर अमरित की बूंद पड़ी) (11 talks), two of the obscure books mentioned above published by Rajanisadhama Prakasana. How about that!
This sign from the unknown confirms for me that Naye Manushya is indeed a kind of translation. perhaps from more than one original source. There are lots of unpublished Last Testament talks around, for instance. For now, that's all there is. Perhaps a re-issue will eventually shed more light.
