Notes
(*1) On OSHO.com audios are available as number 1-16. But when they are bought, one receives 1-18, with #5 and #13 missing. Intro's correspond to 1-18. In the table both numbers are shown: website # / audio-mp3 #.
(*2) The check of these editions based mostly on their TOCs.
(*3) One of dates can be 15 Mar 1970, see info from Hindi series of talks with dates (source document) below.
(*4) About date and place see below analysis made by Dilip at bottom of page.
(*5) At 1:46:49 sound breaks, a couple of words missing and then continues. OW PNKT #11 audio doesn't have this problem.
(*6) In Khajana collection it is Prem Nadi Ke Teera #11.
(*7) Found relation with Bharat Ka Bhavishya ~ 16, event on 1 Oct 1968. So 31 May or 1 Jun fit well to current event. As next part of audio is event given in Bombay too, clue on place from text (Shailendra's PDF, p.97): "There was a girl here in Bombay, she moved to America.", then these two dates from 1980 ed. given in end of ch.1 could be events for 2nd and 3rd parts of audio. It needs confirmation. See also below analysis for details on relation with Bharat Ka Bhavishya event.
(*8) It seems this is end of unknown event: previous part was recorded atop of it. (Rough translation: "Will sit and talk next time. Will have to walk now. It's a good thing.") The rapagraph is presented in Shailendra's PDF, Oshoganga, Osho.com library and in a little different form in 2004 book edition and it is missing on audios. (Text of 1980 ed. is not available in order to check it.) See also below observations.
(*9) This is piece from unidentified event. It's got his number in the event series before it will find his right place.
(*10) Chapters 2-5 show suspiciously the same date: 6 Jun 1969, Udaipur. It least it is not true for ch.4, where talk was given in Bombay, sources: intro and a clue in text, see footnote (*13).
(*11) These are three last talk of 4 in Ludhiana. First is missing. See also analysis of extracts from text below. Ch.8 reffers on meditation on next morning from 6 to 7 am. It seems there should be other morning meditations at least from second day.
(*12) A Hindi friend checked end of audio and says: "after 52 minute...there is nothing but ..verbal noise as people become aggressive and perhaps creating disturbance.....nothing meaning ful once Osho laughs i don't know on which matter as so many peple are talking so not clear." See Naye Samaj Ki Khoj ~ 10 for Sw Ageh Bharti account.
(*13) Dilip on last untranscribed part: "Afterward 14 minutes of talk is general in nature. Osho says I have to go now - I have to catch the train at 7 o'clock (evening). One friend says there are still 9 hours. Others say Osho has to go to Masjid Bunder - have food - pack and to leave for the train. This means that Osho might be camping at Jeevan Jagruti Kendra at Masjid Bunder and returning back to Jabalpur that evening from Mumbai.
"Then Shail Chaturvedi (a famous Hindi Poet) introduced himself to Osho and said 'I am from Bahadarpur (Dist. Amravati) near Nagpur'. Osho tells him he is nearby (perhaps from Jabalpur). So it seems till the date of this talk NSKK #12 (SMA #3) Osho had not left Jabalpur.
"Then Shail Chaturvedi recites three poems and takes most of the 14 minutes' time. First he recites a poem (see at bottom of the page) which Osho recites this poetry in his response to a Q.4 'चौथा प्रश्नः ओशो, राजनीति की मूल कला क्या है?' in ch.11 of Preetam Chhabi Nainan Basi (प्रीतम छबि नैनन बसी) on 21 Mar 1980 am at Buddha Hall, Pune (this discourse is available in video also.).
"So, SMA #3 is actually transcribed in Naye Samaj Ki Khoj chapter 12 and the Mumbai event is before Osho moved to Mumbai from Jabalpur."
(*14) Re date and place see footnote 15 of Talk:Dekh Kabira Roya
(*15) Unknown part of talk, that ends by disturbing.
(*16) It needs full text of the chapter in order to check it.
(*17) It is in Khajana collection as audio #8.

Deliberations

Source of date and place info [for Rajkot] is "Doc X". Questions may arise about 17 discourses in 4 days (6-9 Mar 1970), hmmm? They do seem to be short discourses, taking only 144 pages, and 17 seems to be correct, at least supported by other sources, fwiw. -- Sarlo (talk) 22:27, 27 January 2014 (PST)

Above was written when it was thought that the whole book was given in the four days at Rajkot. In fact, though the books are short, 144-181 or so pages, the discourses are not. The seventeen discourses are all full-length for those days, running from just under an hour to one running over two hours, so we can forget four days. And as if that weren't enough, we have new information from Neeten's Osho Source Book that has both Naye Samaj and Shunya Ke Paar (शून्य के पार) on those dates in Rajkot. This apparently works though, since Shunya talks were given in the mornings and Naye Samaj in the evenings (or afternoons, though less likely in the hot season).
So that's not so bad, and we can still wonder about the other thirteen discourses of Naye Samaj and how seventeen longish talks can fit into 144 pages. Perhaps there is a lot of silence, or a lot of editing/selecting. "TOC" below is actually a list of audio titles, may not correspond to the books. -- Sarlo (talk) 09:16, 3 August 2014 (PDT)
And from the FWIW bin, the audio titles below are actually just from Osho World. Osho.com also offers an audiobook for this series, with titles mostly the same but a few diffs: #5 is just plain missing, #13 has a different title (सत्य को बोलने का साहस) and #13-17 are renumbered to 14-18.
And while we're here, #12 is the title of a fabled long-lost early publication of Osho. Could it have ended up here, in NSKK? Stranger things have happened. -- doofus-9 06:07, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

Image added Feb 3 2019, discussion re that follows below, after older discussions.

I assume that the 17 audio discourses available here correspond to the 17 chapters of the book.

Discourse #10 took place in Ludhiana on Aug, 23, 1970 - the last day of a 3 day talking engagement there (Aug, 21 - 23, 1970). ( see "Osho discourse given on 23 Aug 1970 pm". Update: it is now Naye Samaj Ki Khoj ~ 10. )

--Rudra (talk) 10:07, 16 May 2015 (UTC)

My reading of Ageh's account was that there were four nights of talks, likely #7-10, one each evg from Aug 20-23. Great that you added it here! -- doofus-9 (talk) 18:48, 16 May 2015 (UTC)

yes, you're right. i missed the fact that he arrived at 5am in the morning. --Rudra (talk) 03:16, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

About the image: It is from Jagdish and purports to be the TOC for a previously unknown book, Naye Samaj Ka Janm (नये समाज का जन्म), or "Birth of a New Society", as opposed to NSKK's "Search for a New Society". All the titles bar one match those in NSKK, so it's hard to believe in its separate existence. The difference is a new ch 14 (circled in the image, "सत्य को बोलने का साहस") in "NSKJ", with each chapter after that numbered one higher. Possibly a new edition with one more chapter? ¿Quien sabe? For now, it can sit here and await developments. -- doofus-9 19:13, 3 February 2019 (UTC)

1980 RF edition has 5ch, how are they related with late Rebel edition with 17 chapters? It is necessary to correct date of first publishing in events for this series. Only 5 chapters published in 1980.

Done.--DhyanAntar 13:56, 28 November 2020 (UTC)

Dates of events from 1980 edition:

Ch.1 Bombay, 31 May and 1 Jun 1969 : in Timeline another 3 events in these days...

Ch.2 Udaipur, 6 Jun 1969

Ch.3 Udaipur, 6 Jun 1969

Ch.4 Udaipur, 6 Jun 1969

Ch.5 Udaipur, 6 Jun 1969

This is error of printing? 4 chapters with the same date. Timeline has Upasana Ke Kshan ~ 08 in this date.

None of 5 chapters do not match with Shailendra's PDF.--DhyanAntar 10:42, 3 January 2020 (UTC)

Hindi series of talks with dates (source document): "Naye Samaj Ki Khoj, 4 talks, 6-9.03.70" and then adds "Naye Samaj Ki Khoj, 1 talk, 15.03.70".--DhyanAntar 17:28, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

Osho Discourse Hindi List with dates (source document) confirms 4 talks on 6-9 Mar 1970 and says they are evening talks.--DhyanAntar 06:18, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
The same info gives Hindi series of talks with dates 2 (source document) but with place Rajkot.--DhyanAntar 07:19, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

Ageh Bharti (in Beloved Osho) confirms last date of series in Ludhiana, 23 Aug 1970 pm. And he says it was evening talks.--DhyanAntar 05:47, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

It needs to check relation with Samajvad Se Savdhan (समाजवाद से सावधान): in ch.8 of Shailendra's PDF Osho starts with "'Beware of socialism', I told you a few things in this regard yesterday. Some questions have been asked by friends about that."

It can be morning talk 14 Apr 1970 as that place is vacant.--DhyanAntar 14:33, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
It is not. Ch.8 is part of Ludhiana series, where first evening talk is missing, in which Osho should talked on 'Beware of socialism'. It is not related with Samajvad Se Savdhan series.--DhyanAntar 10:06, 28 November 2020 (UTC)

Hindi series of talks with dates 2 (source document): "प्रभु की कृपा का मार्ग (Prabhu Ki Kripa Ka Marg), 1 talk, Nargol, 4 May 1970". Osho mentions "प्रभु की कृपा" in ch.8, but it seems other talk.--DhyanAntar 07:39, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

Osho.com library gives 1970 year in his Copyrights.--DhyanAntar 12:22, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

Extracts from Shailendra's PDF:

ch.1: it seems evening talk on first two sutras. "The 'discovery of new society' is not a new discovery, perhaps no more will be an old discovery. Ever since man has been searching for new. But each time it is discovered new, and what is found proves to be old. There is revolution, change happens, but then what comes out is old..."
"In search of a new society, the discovery of a new man is the first formula." "I would like to say a few sutras today, then everyday we will talk about them." "So the second sutra wants to tell you about the birth of a new human being and that is, don't take life as a play, a sport - make life a seriousness."
"A short story, and I will complete today. And I have to talk to you on sutras tomorrow... Life is a game and a game played in a dream. There is no need to be so serious in this. Whatever questions in this regard are shared. Morning questions that morning."
ch.2: third sutra, q/a at second half of the talk. Starts by "'Discovery of a new society,' will first say something about the third sutra in this regard. I will answer your questions at the back."
"In the third sutra, I want to tell you: Moments, senses, are not opposed to the simple pleasures of life. Accept them easily."
in the end: "There is some fundamental mistake happening with the man. We have a system, the system itself is probably giving man not moral. And let me take a little thing in your mind - all our moral beliefs are suppressive, oppressive. Therefore, what we suppress only keeps on exploding. And life does not change with repression, life changes with knowledge. I will talk to you tomorrow in this regard."
ch.3: fourth sutra, q/a at second half of the talk. Starts by "I have spoken on three sources in this regard, 'New Society Discovery'. Today, I will talk on the fourth sutra and answer some questions."
At the end: "I will talk last night on the last thread, and on the questions that remain."
ch.4: q/a, last talk of 4-day session in Rajkot. "Do you believe in Rajkot? No, Rajkot is. There is no need for any belief." And ends by "In these four days, my these talks are heard with so much love and peace, for that I am very grateful..."

So, first 4 chapters are well connected as a series of 4 consecutive talks given at Rajkot. It seems these 4 talks were in other place than morning's Shunya Ke Paar.

ch.7: "The discovery of a new society is perhaps the oldest discovery of man. It is also old and has not been successful till now. A history of ten thousand years is the history of a very unsuccessful story. Efforts have been made to create a new society, but after every effort, the old society is re-established. A new society cannot be born. Revolutions took place..."
ch.8: q/a, evening talk, Ludhiana (a few clues in text). Starts by "'Beware of socialism', I told you a few things in this regard yesterday. (Reference to ?) Some questions have been asked by friends about that."
question 2: "A second friend has asked that in socialism each gets equal opportunity, equal operability, which is not the case in capitalism. What do you think about this ?"
in the end: "Two or four questions remain in this regard. If you have any more questions, you will give them in writing, then tomorrow evening we will be able to talk. A notice in the morning, then let me finish. The friends who are coming for meditation in the morning, reach at exactly six o'clock."

It seems q.2 ("A friend has asked that do you not accept the notion of socialism that everyone has the right to be equal?") of Samajvad Se Savdhan (समाजवाद से सावधान) ch.2 (given at evening of 14 Apr 1970 in Bombay) is related with above question. Samajvad Se Savdhan = 'Beware of socialism' mentioned in beginning of 8th talk of Naye Samaj. Ch.8 was in Ludhiana. So this reference to another talk on "समाजवाद से सावधान" that missed for now and it is apparently not ch.7.

ch.9: q.1: "A friend has asked that you said in the first day's discussion that socialism makes man an animal. So those friends say that man has become worse than animal today, so what is the harm if man becomes animal too ?" (Reference to ?)
ch.10: starts by "Many questions have gathered about the three-day discussions. It may not be possible to answer all the questions. Nevertheless, I will try to take as many questions as possible. Therefore, a little talk can be done in a brief way."

Dilip made check of OW audio #5 and ch.5 of Shailendra's PDF. Some useful notes:

i have listened to the complete audio of the intimate talk (2hrs:16min:56sec) with a group of few people (Anandji Bahi – a famous musician ‘Kalyanji – Anandji Pair’, Manmohan Desai - a famous director and producer - Kamal Amrohi - another famous actor - producer & director etc) from the Hindi Film Industry and compared the text of Chapter #05:
The audio talk matches the text of the Ch #05 (Page 69 - 103)
The three parts before 52:23, from 52:23 to 53:14 and from 53:14 to 1:47:08 correspond to pages 69 (ch #05 starting at 'हां, कई बार कोई चीज हमारे भीतर जागते-जागते') - 96 (2nd para end at 'यह रोज होता रहेगा।'). They do not seem exactly related but the talk in NSKK #05 is an intimate discussion with the Hindi Film fraternities. During 52:23 to 53:14 (on page 82) it seems that Kamal Amrohi is joining and Osho is addressing him saying: "नहीं, अनिश्चित नहीं है कमल।"
Ch #01 to #04 (Page 2 to 68) are well connected as a series of 4 consecutive talks given at Rajkot. This can be inferred from the text of all 4 talks and as per the last para at end of 4th chapter (Page 68) where Osho says: "इन चार दिनों में मेरी इन सब बातों को इतने प्रेम और शांति से सुना, उससे बहुत अनुगृहीत हूं। और अंत में सबके भीतर बैठे परमात्मा को प्रणाम करता हूं, मेरे प्रणाम स्वीकार करें। - In these four days, my these talks are heard with so much love and peace, for that I am very grateful .............". On previous page 67 Osho says: "विश्वास? विश्वास का मतलब कि पता नहीं है। सूरज में विश्वास करते हैं? राजकोट में विश्वास करते हैं? नहीं, राजकोट है। विश्वास की कोई जरूरत नहीं। - ................... Do you believe in Rajkot? No, Rajkot is. There is no need for any belief."
On page 71 (in Ch #05 which is not in continuance with first 4 chapters - talks) Osho refers to Gurdjieff saying 'एक फकीर था गुरजिएफ, आठ-दस साल पहले मरा। - There was a saint Gurdjieff, who died 8-10 years before'. As per Wikipedia page G. Gurdjieff died in Oct 1949. This may give a hint that this talk NSKK #05 might be held sometime in sixties.
Also in the para (on the page 80) starting with "सोशल वैल्यूज बदलने की बात है। - It's the matter of changing the social values" while addressing to मनमोहन जी (Manmohan Desai), Osho says "अगर आप नंगे आदमी को आदर दो, आप हजार आदमी पाओगे बंबई में नंगे खड़े हुए हैं। - If you respect a nude man, you will find a thousand men standing naked in Bombay." So we can say that the talk (NSKK #05) was held in Bombay.
And still talking to मनमोहन जी, ..." It means that this talk until 52:23 ('हां, आ गए हैं तो सुनाएं, थोड़ी देर सुन लिया जाए।' on page 82) was given in 1965.
After 52:23 until the end of the talk (page 103) - "कभी अगली बार बैठ कर बात करेंगे। अभी तो चलना पड़ेगा। अच्छी बात है।": it seems is a different talk and the event. It's interesting to note that Kamal is remembering the talk held before six month six months at Podar College (situated in Matunga, Bombay - adjecent to Ruia College) - on page 84 - "मगर आपका पहला ही लेक्चर जो मैंने सुना था, छह महीने पहले पोद्दार कालेज में, आपके उस लेक्चर ने मेरे इस फैटेलिज्म को तोड़ा था, वह मुझे नहीं भूलता।..... He is referring to what Osho said about Japan's trees whose roots are cut can not grow higher (और एक-एक जो आपने उपमा दी; वह जापान के उन वृक्षों की जिनकी जड़ें काटी जाती हैं, वे बढ़ नहीं पाते।). The event ‘Bharat Ka Bhavishya (भारत का भविष्य)’ #16 (dated 1 Oct 1968) fits very well with every word told by Kamal Amrohi in reference to the event 6 months before in Poddar (from ‘मगर आपका पहला ही लेक्चर जो मैंने सुना था, छह महीने पहले पोद्दार कालेज में,’ to ‘जिस तरह कि बाल्मीकि।’).
The text and audio on page 84 and from the last lines where Kamal says: "हां, हमने उस पिक्चर में काम किया है। मैं अंगुलीमाल का बाप बना हूं।वह अंगुलीमाल जो है, वह एक क्षण में बदल जाता है। उतनी ताकत का आदमी है।" is very interesting in the sense that it matches exactly with the audio and text of another Osho Talk: Prem Nadi Ke Teera
It seems that the talk from 00:53:14 "असल में दो तरह की उम्र हैं" on page 82 to 01:47:08 "यह रोज होता रहेगा।" on page 96 and then till the end of NSKK #05 and ch. # 05 on page 103 where Osho concludes "कभी अगली बार बैठ कर बात करेंगे। अभी तो चलना पड़ेगा। अच्छी बात है।" is different event of Prem Nadi Ke Teera (प्रेम नदी के तीरा) #11 as the audio and transcribed text of which starts and ends abruptly.
So here we have two events: one NSKK #05 and second PNKT #11 both in Mumbai sometime in 1965.
His further observations after a couple of dates:
It seems that this (52:23-53:14) is also a part PNKT #11 till 01:47:08 and further until the last line: "कभी अगली बार बैठ कर बात करेंगे। अभी तो चलना पड़ेगा। अच्छी बात है।" on the last page 103 of Ch #05 in PDF, as the lady’s voice appears to be same from 52:23 and beyond 53:14 – and the talk continues with Kamal. This last line also matches with the same line in para 5 of page 34 of osho.com site.
The text on the page 34 of O.C after "कभी अगली बार बैठ कर बात करेंगे। अभी तो चलना पड़ेगा। अच्छी बात है।" from the para starting with “रामकृष्ण का एक चित्र” till the end on page 35 are mixture of small parts of two different talks by Osho: “विज्ञान, धर्म और कला-(प्रवचन-01)” (Vigyan, Dharm Aur Kala (विज्ञान, धर्म और कला), ch.1: in Shailendra's PDF p.10) and “गीता दर्शन (भाग—4 प्रवचन #01) प्रवचन—089” (= Geeta-Darshan, Adhyaya 8 (गीता-दर्शन, अध्याय ८), ch.1: in Shanlendra's PDF it is Bhag 4, ch.1, p.12).
Editor: i don't agree on only this point: there are similarity, but those talks as i see are not sources of that part of text appeared in 1980 ed. and then in later editions and osho.com. Dilip confrimed it a little later:
"Yes. Here, we can’t link the talks VDAK #01 and GD #089 from formal series.
"Right. I didn’t review the images of 1980 ed on Wiki Page ‘Naye Samaj Ki Khoj’. Now after reading the page 1-2 in the image ‘Chapter 1’ and page 65 in the image ‘Chapter 2’ it can be inferred that online library of O.C has reproduced whole of the text published in 65 pages in Chapter 1 of this 1st edition in March 1980 of NSKK – being the publisher themselves."
The last part of the audio (#5) ends abruptly at “उस दिशा में बहुत सोचने जैसा है।” and the chapter #05 ends in next line at “कभी अगली बार बैठ कर बात करेंगे। अभी तो चलना पड़ेगा। अच्छी बात है।”. The audio event from 01:47:08 ends abruptly before this line on page 103 of PDF.
All 4 parts (pages 69-82, 82-96 and 96-103 from PDF and p.54-56 of 2004 ed.) are published in the 1980 ed from page 1 to 65 till the end of Chapter 1. Only problem we have that the audio of the intimate talk (2hrs:16min:56sec) NSKK #5 starts and ends abruptly – i.e. the recorded talk is not full. So we can not ensure anything about the text on the pages 34-35 of O.C after “Ramkrishna…….” The small text before Ramkrishna on page page 34, however is the end part of the Ch # 05 of NSKK PDF.
