Talk:Osho Timeline 1989

The celebration in July on full moon day is known to many as Guru Purnima. However, in June 1989, Osho stated that the word "guru" had taken on ugly connotations and that he was not in favour of the idea of gurus. He renamed this celebration Osho Full Moon Celebration. (OTI July 1, 1990)

A sannyasin wrote to me that this new and final phase was not called "Evening Satsang with the Master" until after Osho left his body. At first in August and September, and maybe July too, it was called the Osho White Swan Brotherhood. This can be seen in videos made at the time. Then it became Osho White Robe Brotherhood, as the swan thing got phased out. (You see Osho wearing the white swan logo on his shoulders in just a few of them, for quite a short time, then the swans are ditched.)

A few weeks before Osho left his body he said about the evening gathering of what was to be the White Robe brotherhood meeting: "The silence has now reached such a deep level that no matter how many new people come in, they won′t disturb it. They will immediately rise to the same level." (OTI, December 1,1993)

The silent celebrations in July and August would not have been called White Robe but White Swan, since White Robe came later, approx Oct 1. (It says White Swan Brotherhood on the earliest, possibly all, of the September videos.) Osho came out every night from Sept 17 till The Last Namaste, Jan 17, 1990, and full videos were made of the events, including a replay of the discourse videos shown after he left Buddha Hall. Over the course of the four months, his physical energy can be seen gradually diminishing, until the last one, where he can barely stand and walk.

I took time "19:00" from videos of White Swan and White Robe. Can we on the basis of that info fill time 19:00 for other events of this series?--DhyanAntar 07:55, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

of course not. what you found could have been an exception of one or more. --Rudra 07:27, 17 February 2020 (UTC) .
