Deliberations

There are basically two sources for info on this book, a five-discourse audiobook package offered by Osho World and an e-book apparently with seven talks. Free audio download places have nine but no info aside from their nineness. The usual mystery. The mention of Rajkot comes from the blurb with OW's audiobook, titles reproduced below.

The e-book is a short one, only 105 pages, but compact: that it appears to have seven talks is based on nothing so clear as chapter breaks or numbers, but a patient scrolling does reveal titles, usually followed by मेरे प्रिय आत्मन, his greeting / salutation of that era. Those titles are also reproduced below, along with page numbers where they were found. There is not one title in common between the two formats. Oh well. -- updated doofus-9 (talk) 05:23, 21 April 2015 (UTC)

Image right from Jagdish has Dates and Places info for just five talks:

1. Mar 29 1968 pm Rashtriya Shala Ground, Rajkot (Q&A)
2. Mar 30 1968 am Rashtriya Shala Ground, Rajkot
3. Mar 30 1968 pm Rashtriya Shala Ground, Rajkot (Q&A)
4. Mar 31 1968 am Rashtriya Shala Ground, Rajkot
5. Mar 31 1968 pm Rashtriya Shala Ground, Rajkot (Q&A)

Rashtriya Shala is a school set up by Mahatma Gandhi to teach self-reliance skills and independence values. The fairly open and spacious Ground and the sort-of-concentrated pattern of talks suggests the possibility of a camp-like event, especially given the title Shunya Samadhi. It is not known, however, whether meditations were held in the "off-times" between discourses. Perhaps those other four freebie audios?

At this point, there is a solid body of info re the five talks in Rajkot, with the seven talks (with completely new titles) of the e-book and the nine title-less free audios being relative outliers wafting around in maybe-space. -- doofus-9 01:51, 6 February 2019 (UTC)

Clues from text from Shailendra's PDF with rough translation of quotes.

Ch.1: Q&A, starts by "In the morning's discussion, we have talked about the first sutra before the human step will be able to take the step towards the truth of life. In that regard a friend has asked that why do I consider astonishment, wonder, the first step?" "Knowledge is a big thing, knowledge is a fundamental change in the whole life. Knowledge is not a collection of intellectual information, but a radical transformation of the whole soul. Knowledge is the movement into a new life. Knowledge is not a collection of words, it is an experience of truth. And people who cling to scriptures and words for that experience build a wall forever, I told you this morning. That's why I said, bring back the eyes of wonder. Drop the ego of the wise. Bring in the feeling of an astonished child, the feeling of innocence." "Sins all over the world are committed under the guise of knowledge and books, and those sins will continue until we let go of that false attachment to books and are ready to look at life straight away. Straight can only be seen who gives away knowledge and empties the eyes of wonder, the eyes of wonder. That's why in the morning I said this thing and I clarified some of these points again. I hope they are clear to you. And think on them and ponder and ask and seek, so that one day it will become very clear to you. If this becomes clear, then a revolution begins in your life. This completed both the discussions of the first thread. Tomorrow morning we will consider the second thread."

Ch.2: morning talk on second sutra. Starts by "Yesterday morning and evening we talked at the first step of the Lord's Gate. I called that first step a sense of wonder (reference to ch.1). Knowledge does not have inertia, it needs fluidity of wonder. There is no burden of knowledge, but a state of mind unencumbered by wonder. Not the arrogance of knowledge, but the innocent simplicity of wonder. I spoke to you yesterday regarding this. Today I want to talk to you on another thread." "Life becomes as we have the vision to see it. Those who wish to enter the temple of truth must have the sight of bliss. The sense of wonder is the first formula. The second sutra is: the sight of bliss." "So in the second sutra I would like to tell you, what is this vision of misery and how have we created it, cannot it be converted into the vision of bliss?" "One small incident and I will conclude this morning's discussion." "Every moment opens. But for those whose eyes are closed, it does not open even in a hundred years. If the search for the door of bliss happens every moment in life, then this is the second sutra for the seeker."

Ch.3: Q&A, starts by "This morning we talked about the second sutra of life-cultivation, "Anand-Bhava" (=sense of bliss; reference to ch.2). Many questions have been asked in that regard. We will consider them now." In the end: "Soul is Sarita, Paramatma is ocean. Whatever flows in the stream of the soul definitely reaches the ocean of God one day. The day Sarita acquires the power to lose--to drown, to perish, she becomes GOD. We will talk about that third thread tomorrow morning."

Ch.4: starts by "We discussed the first thread in the discussion of the first day, on wonder-inspiring. Yesterday, in the discussion of the previous day, on the thread of being blissful, we talked about the second thread (reference to ch.2). And today we will talk about the third sutra: Abheda-bhava or Advaita, the third sutra." In the end: "If you have anything to ask regarding this sutra, in the evening, we will be able to talk about it."

Ch.5: Q&A, last talk (in farewell Osho mentions 3 days; farewells in first 4 chapters don't have any indication about days). Starts by: "In the last three days, we considered the three sources of life. Surprise, Ananda and Advaita. Today in the morning we have talked about the last thread. We will now consider the questions that have been asked in that regard. Some friends have asked that how the mind should be directed for the accomplishment of Advaita Bhava, how, on which path life should be moved? How can Advaita be fruitful?" In the end: "Listened to my words with so much love and calmness for three days, I am very grateful to him. And in the end, I bow to the divine sitting within everyone. Please accept my greetings."

Conclusion: missing talk on first sutra which was on morning on same day as ch.1 (ch.1 is evening's talk with Q&A after morning talk).--DhyanAntar 06:11, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
