Tantra (group)

Tantra was a three-day Pune One energy / therapy group first led by Kaveesha, then by Sudha. The Community to Provoke God brochure offered this as a brief description:

A loving, accepting space is created, where for three days participants can discover and experience the conditioning and taboos they have about their own bodies and their physical relationships with others. The emphasis of the group is on following the flow of body energy wherever it leads and not getting caught up in expectations, rights and wrongs and the habitual concepts of performance and satisfaction we all have with regard to sexuality, sensuality and the body.

According to the groups timeline chart in The Sound of Running Water, Tantra was offered from Feb 1977 to Mar 1978, TSORW's cut-off date. It continued to be offered, as far as we know, until Jun 1981, when Osho left for the States, and possibly a little afterward.

There is an odd feature in the TSORW chart relating to Tantra, which may lead us to speculate about the changeover from Kaveesha to Sudha: the beginnings of the groups' timeline bars in this chart are done with certain colour gradations, morphing to plain light colours as time goes on. Tantra's bar morphs normally until Oct 1977, then suddenly adopts the beginning format again. Perhaps this is when Sudha started. In any case, she was certainly there by late 1978.

For the sake of thoroughness, it should also be noted that this moment where Tantra's timeline bar changes suddenly back to "beginning mode" coincides precisely with the introduction of another group called Tantra Yoga, whose bar is immediately above Tantra's in the chart. And the sudden change in the Tantra bar may be a glitch associated with that. Or it could be both or neither.
