This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Angelika Glöckner. It is "Exhibit A-237" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has 2 pages.

To whom it may concern:

Since 7 years I am working in a psychotherapeutic profession and I have treated also very strongly disturbed patients.

My long-time intensive experiences with this and other clientel made the necessity evident to me of a superior concept of psychology which delivers a wider and broader frame as the traditional psychology and its methods.

Although the modern (humanistic) psychology has done great progress we are confronted with a general lack of sense of living which leads to the various outsider-groups of society.

As I got to know Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh years ago by his books ant tapes and also personally my concepts of psychological and therapeutical views were enriched immensely. This man has available a highly specialised knowlegde and moreover the ability to teach his knowledge theoretically and prctically.

From my more than 5 years experiences as a therapisttrainer and supervisor I can estimate of what immense value a teacher is who can transfer his knowledge into experiences for his disciples which means really "to become what you know".

Finally the exceptional abilities of this man are proved in the field of religion and spirituality which are areas that provide a frame for the human mankind to find a sense of life.

I am absolutely convinced that an even hundred per cent perfect psychology and psychotherapy does not enable human mankind to solve the problems of this time effectively and adequately. It needs a philosophy that makes a new establishing of old religious binding possible and to find a new definition of human being by a new sense of life.

One who opens a door for those bindings is Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh who is able ( more than any other person I got to know) to show a practical way to a solution of the fatal situation of modern mankind.

To have a man which such extraordinary and rare qualities in our environment can only be seen as grace.

Yours sincerely
