This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

50129 FIRENZE - ITALY

From July 2 to July 8 I participated in the Second Annual World Celebration in Oregon and after returning to Italy, I felt the necessity to share with you my observations.

I am an official of the State Railways and have the responsibility for all the water purification systems of the Railways of Italy. I have contributed to the establishment of about ten purification plants based on a chemical/ physical process.

In Oregon I was struck by the modern approach the disciples of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh are using in this field which allows thousands of people to live not violently or abusively, but in complete harmony with the environment.

In our technologically advanced society the usual way is to purify the environment after having polluted it. In Oregon I could see that efforts are instead directed towards not polluting the environment at all, towards avoiding any situation that could result in pollution. This is definitely a much more advanced and modern approach.

I feel fortunate to have been able to share the days of the celebration with the disciples of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh.

In reality this master shows the world that it is possible to live in harmony with our environment, concentrating the human efforts towards social wellbeing and towards the harmony of men.

Since the purchase of my first book by Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh some years ago, which first allowed me insight into this movement, I have always closely followed all the new improvements taken by them in the ecological field as they are of extreme interest in my professional job.

With greetings
(signed) Stefano Barazzetti
