This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Barbara Kunz. It is "Exhibit A-1028" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

to whom it may concern:

In my work and studies as a psychologist (grad. at Zurich University) and teacher of educational matters, I have oriented my ideology on philosophers and scientists like: Heinrich Pestalozzi, Sigmund Freud, Carl Gustav Jung, Rudolf Steiner, Fritz Pearls, Carl Rogers, Thomas Gordon - just to mention the most important ones.

What they all have in common and what I was looking for is the dignity, freedom and love in every human being, the beauty within the individual if he/she can develop his/her innermost core of being, call it also holy, divine nature of all living existence.

But only when I came across the books of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, I found a theory which is a vessel to describe the existence phenomena without destroying it. Bhagwans deep trust and love for the positiv in every person and specifically the genious ways he developped so many powerful methods to help people in becoming whole, loving and creativ makes him for me a really great teacher of our century.

I use certain forms of his meditations in my courses and I also mate quotations from his discourses in my lessons. The echo of most of the students is very positive.

I really think that the USA is the right place (of course I would love to have this Master here in Switzerland, but I guess my nation is far too narrow-minded for such a potencial), to allow him building his work which I understand as a better and more peaceful way of living for everyone.

I would appreciate very much if the US-Immigration - Office gives him all the support which is needed.

sincerly
