This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Dr. Barbara Wehrse. It is "Exhibit A-1165" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

To whom it may concern

As a psychologist and psychotherapist I am working in the West German Human Growth Movement doing groups and individual work (therapies, counceling, meditations and bodywork) organized on my own as well as in municipal health centers.

I am very much indebted to Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh as I owe to him a tremendous amount of inspirations concerning my working professionally with people as well as concerning my own personal growth. I had the opportunity to meet him personally arid got to know a lot of his books as well as lectures registered on tapes. A few years ago I was so fortunate as to get several trainings in the Shree Rajneesh Ashram in Poona (Shiatsu, Intuitive Massage, Postuaral Integration), as it is known, that the worldbest therapists gathered at that time in his Ashram.

Bhagwan’s capacity to bring together Eastern and Western Philosophy and Psychology is an innovative and outstanding tentative which has spread all over the world and is attracting a tremendous amount of interested people of all kinds of professions, educations, classes etc.

It is my firm wish that Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh might stay in his new built Ashram in Oregon/USA.
