Testimonial letter from Baron Jean Paul de Crombrugghe
This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. This letter is from Baron Jean Paul de Crombrugghe de Looringh. It is "Exhibit A-1109" in the Noles collection.
The original letter was handwritten in French, a text transcription has not yet been created. A text version of its translation has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription.

 translationBrussels, July 19, 1983 Dear Sir, I cannot find the words to express my joy in discovering an incredible being. My contact with Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh has completely transformed my life. I work as a physiotherapist in hospital, and in private (practice). My pretence of helping sick people through massages or the use of all modern chemical and electric instruments has radically changed. Now I see that it is the human being that is of real importance. The sickness is not something to fight. I see that each individual must stop the machine that creates, the sickness.
