This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch.  21 July 1983 To whom it may concern I'm a mathematician from Buenos Aires University. I've been professor and researching at the Maths. Department, Associate Professor at the Economic Sciences Faculty. I've been working with people of international recognition in Maths and Pure Logics, such as Dr. Santalo, Dr. Misha Cotlar from Buenos Aires University, Dr. Karoubi From Strasburg, Dr. Micali from Montpellier. I got my Masters degree in 1969, being only 21 years old. The kind of research I've been doing since then in various fields, what the public knows as "high pure maths", requires dealing with concepts and abstract spaces far away from your day life routine, to say it in a very simple way. Much is there to be disentangled, discovered, put to clear. Besides intelligence, for this kind of research being open-minded, sharp, clear, searching, is fundamental. You touch the borderlines of human understanding, high developed logics, the abyss between the known and the unknown the knowable and the unknowable, difficult to accept. I've been getting each time more in touch with the meditations and teachings given to the world by Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh in the last years, through my personal experience, or books, or tapes or even seeing Him. And I have to say that the contribution that all these made to go beyond the normal average level of research in my field is incommensurable. There's no way I could have reached there without them, no way to be able to go further and further with success, making possible for me to open one door after the other. When you get to that point where all the sciences meet, Maths, Physics, Logics, Medicine - and even where science and Art meet, where religion has to appear; the point where reality is there for you to understand and where words are too little to express anything, when you get there, when you have to accept God, this exceptional man - Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh - is there with you, helping you in every possible way, his teachings are there to support you and guide you. His contribution to the world at this point and for all of us - scientist, intellectuals where also the team work is fundamental - directly or indirectly - is obvious. This much I can testify |
