This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Christopher Kirk Scott MA. It is "Exhibit A-345" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I write both as a Master of Arts with Honors of Oxford University and as a Practising Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England, to testify as to my experience of the religious teachings of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh.

As a Master of philosophy and political Science and as a former student of some of the "best" minds of the twentieth century, I feel qualified to testify to the immense genius of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, a genius that consists not only in the depth of his insight and understanding but also in his ability to communicate these insights and understandings with the utmost clarity and in simple language, thus making the benefits thereof generally available to a wide cross-section of humanity.

As a practising lawyer I can attest as to the great benefits I have become aware of in my professional as well as my private life that have flowed as a direct result of the teachings of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. These teachings have enabled me to arrive at a greater degree of understanding of my role as a professional dealing with people’s problems and of the people themselves and has enabled me to bring a greater degree of compassion to my work - a fact that has been commented on by my clients.

Further than this, however, application of the teachings of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh to my daily life has resulted in a great improvement in the "quality" of my work and my attitude to it. I am more relaxed and enjoy my work more whilst actually increasing my work-rate and the accuracy and efficiency of my work - all of which I have no doubt in attributing to the effect upon me of the teachings of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh.

Yours faithfully
