This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from George A. Harris BA. It is "Exhibit A-262" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

Re: Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh

To Whom It May Concern:

I am General Manager of Canada’s largest Soyfood Company and as such I call upon all my resources of personal and personnel management in my various responsibilities.

I was introduced to the writings of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh some time ago, and became facinated in his efforts to bring about the basic transformation of Man through his unique and scientific approach using modern psychological techniques blended with ancient Eastern meditation patterns.

He is a man of exceptional ability in the Psychology of Personal Growth. His insights into the problems of modern man are incisive and his radical techniques have given rise to a new Psychology - often called the Psychology of the Buddhas - that has helped thousands of individuals to experience the Unity of Life and the sanctity of the individual. (I speak from experience.)

These experiences enrich the lives of the participants and leave them much better equipped to handle the pressures of daily life nomatter what their field.

I heartily recommend his therapies and scientifically designed meditations as well as his joyous way of experiencing Life.

Sincerely,
[signed]
George A. Harris (B.A. McGill)
General Manager
