This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Gerhard Lechleitner. It is "Exhibit A-1315" in the Noles collection.

To whom it may concern

I am student in psycologie, music and old-philologie with experience for years as piano teacher. Collecting experiences with various psychological therapie schools established in Zürich, as have been : Freudian Analysis, Bioenergetics, Gestalt, Casriel-therapie and Rolfing, I was neighter satisfied of the theoretical nor the practical possibilities of all these methods.

The anthropologic background seamed to remain fragmentary, something was missing.

My first "aha experience" was by reading a book of my future spiritual teacher Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. He was the first man really emphasizing that all these different views are only able to explain half the dimension of human mind:the western part: sociabilitie, emotionality, sexuality and cognition.

But there is a second part: the eastern: intuitional mind, wordless awareness, the capacity of total relaxation and surrender to something beyond .

In consequence of this integral view Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh has created a new concept of psychotherapie by combinating modern western therapies with eastern meditations.

In taking part of some of his "inner growth programms", I made tremendeous and deep experiences changing totally my life. Therefore I decided to devote myself to Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and his teaching wich includes the possibilitie of a life in a community of love, understanding, peace and consciousness.

Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh is wellknown wordwite as a great psycological capacity, autor of more than threehundred extraordinary books about spiritual systems( Christianity, Hinduism, Tantra Islam,.Sifism ect)

In muny important european cities like Berlin, München, Amsterdam, Paris, Rom, his followers have foundated meditation centers , open to everybody. These centers are so well esteemed that even physicians and psychiatrists send their clients there, when the therapie stucks. It would be a great loss if the United Stated of America, well known as tolerant and open to intelligence of all color and every innovatif tendence , would deny the immigration of such an important and famous man.

I hope that the concerned assortie reviews the case of the immigration of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh from all these aspects. With kindest regards your sincerly
