This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Gregor Bitter. It is "Exhibit A-1166" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has 2 pages.

Bremen (GFR), 18.July1983

To whom it may concern

I am Diplom-Psychologist. And my occupation is drug-prevention in schools in Bremen (federal state of GFR).

I am member of "Deutsche Gesellschaft für Verhaltenstherapie e.V." (DGVT), a german company for behavioral therapy and the greatest german therapist-company; vice-president of "Verein zur Förderung der Verhaltenstherapie im Raum Weser/Ems e.V.", a company of behavioral therapists, a regional part of DGVT; member of “Bildungs- und Begegnungsstätte für gewaltfreie Aktion e.V.", an institute for research and teaching the possibilities and methods of forceless activities; member of the political party "Die Grünen".

The traditional psychology views people and the reality like a maschine: if the scientologist knows all the factors of humans, of the life, of the reality he can describe and explain the whole (Turning Point, by F. CAPRA). But this viewing is limited: it seems to be impossible to know all the factors, because humans, life, the reality are very complex systems with higher and lower systems. And all the factors change in living systems permanently in the relation to the others.

BHAGWAN SHREE RAJNEESH shows the whole, He shows methods of finding the whole, of explaining and experiencing the whole. He is really a person of exceptional ability in science.

I heard and saw some tapes and video-tapes from BHAGWAN and read some books, for example "Esoteric Psychology" and other. He shows the way to oneself and to growing oneself. And this is the best drugprevention.

My occupation is teaching life, which prevents consumption of and dying with drugs. And BHAGWAN gives His view of life fortunately celebrating in this reality without abuse of drugs. He is really a religious Teacher and a spiritual leader.

He gives answer to many psychological questions.
