This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society.  STAD MECHELEN TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN Let me present myself. I am a 42 year old Belgian man, counsellor of the city council of Mechelen (A town of 78,000 inhabitants) where I have been seating for the Christian Democratic Party since 1976. At the same time I was a member of the Private secretariate of Minister Jos De Saeger, Minister of Public Developments for 8.5 years, and for 1 year I worked at the private secretariate of Mrs. Verlackt, secretary of Public Health and family. Now I am an administrative officer at the Ministery of Public Developments. Learning to know Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and his teachings my life was totally changed. I feel myself more responsable, more peaceful and more assertive than before. I think that in the United States my Master Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh has by far the best possibilities to help me in my growth.
