This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Harald Glätzer. It is "Exhibit A-1326" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

To whom it may concern

I'm a disciple of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh for over three years now and I want to point out to you the positive influence of his teachings on my active life in society and in my work.

I am a sociologist with a full university degree , working for 5 years in different areas : adult education, third world countries, disabled people etc.

Presently I hold a position as social researcher in the Institut of Sociology, University of Kiel, West-Germany.

I am researching the problems concerning the integration of turkish foreign workers and their families into german society, the religious, political and educational aspects of their lifestyle ana intercultural conparision are the main concerns.

I am espcially grateful to Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh that he is enriching my scientific work in every possible way by his presence on earth n and his vast teachings on all scientific, cultural and religious traditions on earth.

As the field of sociology of religion is presently very neclected in the scientific community of Germany , his insights give great opportunity for deep analysis. Even now, that he is communicating through silence , which is the ultimate state of religious expression , I feel encouraged by him to continue my work as a researcher, to help formulating some solutions to the economic , cultural and ecological problems humanity is facing.

Sincerely
