This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Dr. Heiner Klaus. It is "Exhibit A-152" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I have a consultation practise for psychosomatic diseases since 1978 in Egmond, Holland. Born in Germany I graduated from medical school in Munich, Germany, where I had my residential years. A 2 year training in psychiatry and psychology in the Dutch Psychiatric Hospital Loosduinen gave me insights into the interrelatedness of psychology and physical illness, so I started to set up my practise.

Being professionally interested in psychology -publications I came across the religious books of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. His talks on the relationship of body-mind-soul, come from an exceptional level of consciousness and transmits insights that scientific research has not yet discovered. This established Bhagwan as an outstanding figure in the field of psychology. On the interrelatedness of the psychic unconscious illness and its expression on the physical plane, he has genially designed a number of meditation methods that help people to be cleansed and heighten their level of consciousness.

I suggest these techniques (Meditations) to my clients with excellent success and they are a valid tool in psychotherapy and psychiatry. Furthermore He offers a new level of awakeness and "weltenschauung" to both the therapist and the client that goes beyond psychology into the reach of religion. He is the first Mystic in human history who has a chance to create a religion while still alive and exercise a worldwide spiritual influence.

Sincerely,
[signed]
(Dr. Heiner Klaus)
