This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Jason R. Doty PhD. It is "Exhibit A-170" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

To Whom It May Concern:

The purpose of this letter is to declare my appreciation for the unique and exceptional contribution Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh has made to the field of philosophy and human behavior. I consider Bhagwan Shree Rajneeh to be a world teacher in this area and his provocative books and talks on the subject of human behavior are rare indeed. His competence in the field of comparative religion, philosophy and behavior are unexcelled in my experience.

I have received my academic degrees from the University of Southern California, the University of California at Los Angeles, and the United States International University in San Diego. I have a doctor of philsophy degree in academic psychology and human behavior. In addition, I am the founder and director of a large and comprehensive health care center which includes physicians and psychologists. I am on the Board of Directors for the Mandala Society, the Association for Holistic Health, the Festival of Nations Foundation and several other non-profit organizations involved in the human potential movement. I’ve published many articles in trade journals and I have been on network television and on a special B.B.C. documentary. Although I have no formal or on-going involvement with Bhagwan Shree Rajneeh, his impact through his books, tapes, and centers, are very helpful to me and many of our patients. Please call or write if I can be of assistance.

Sincerely,
[signed]
