This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Kjeld Andersen. It is "Exhibit A-1047" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

Copenhagen July 19th. 1983

To whom it may concern.

I, Kjeld Andersen, a danish citizen educated as a scientist at the University of Copenhagen and worked as such for many years by research and developement where I have made several inventions from which 5 have been patented in the U.S.A., do strongly recommend the American authorities to allow Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh living and working in the U.S.A.

The reasons are that he (Bhagwan) has a pronounced influence on creativity and way of thinking, who all countries in the worldcould benefit from and of course especially that country in which he lives. For me has the meeting with the ideas of Bhagwan given me a clarity about my feelings and body who I feel are enriching my daily life.

My knowledge to Bhagwan is partly from some of his many books and tapes and from contact with his discipels, the so-called sannyasins (I am not a sannyasin). Through these contacts I have seen and felt how much Bhagwan has to give quite normal eople in their daily life. Spanning from couple relationship to daily working situations. My consciousness has, thanks to Bhagwan, greatly enhanced and I feel a continuous personally growth.

In the hope that the democratic and tolerantly U.S.A, will allow that Bhagwan may remain in America I remain

Yours sincerely
