This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society.  Ms Kuniko Uemura To Whom it May Concern, Please permit me to explain how and when I met Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and how He has changed my life, including my social life. Many of His lectures that have been translated into Japanese are available from any large book store here in Japan. I have been an eager reader of His books for the past six years. When Ma Prem Arup came to Kyoto in the autumn of 1982 I felt strongly that I must involve myself more in His religion. He teaches repeatedly to be open to reality, hard or comfortable and to be aware of who you are and to accept it absolutly. Since, I have realized that this the only way to reach happiness. I have been surprized to notice that my attitude towards my students has changed considerably. I was feeling for a long time a sentiment complex towards my duties and guilt towards my students. [notary stuff] Now I feel that I have started to look at my students objectivly and love them just as they are, not as an authority but as a natural and free person, who has become an efficient teacher. I also appreciate very much His understanding of religion. He is one of the greatest philosophers in the world. His books have become an indispensable aid in my work on comparative mythology.
