This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Lane Lind. It is "Exhibit A-719" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has 2 pages.

Copenhagen, the 22nd July, 1983

To whom it may concern

Since 1965 I have been working as an actress and have become one of the more famous in this country.

Since 1978 I have been a teacher at two of our three theatrica schools.I teach drama and only this year I have become member of staff at the State’s Theaterschool here in Copenhagen.

In 1979 I went to India to visit a freind, who was staying at t(?) Rajneesh Ashram in Poona. I did’nt know Bhagwan beforehand, but th(?) most evident and important experience I got from him and his Ash(?) was, that I had been landed on a little spot on earth, where all h(?) beings could exist and live as they were without any discriminat(?) of any kind.

I stayed there for a month and went back home as one of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh’s disciples. At home I continued my former work as an actress and a teacher, but now with much more enthusiasm, chear(?) nes and love.

For the past four years I have participated in some therapy gr(?) arranged by the danish Rajneesh center in Copenhagen, and I have also been doing some of Bhagwan's meditations on my own and in gr(?) and I wouldn’t be without it. Besides I read a lot of what Bhagwan teaches/says and it gives me comfort and courage and a better un(?)standing of myself and my fellow human beings.

Therefore I wish that the State of Oregon would give themselves the honour af homing such a great human being who creates nothing but growth and love around him.

Yours
Lane Lind
