This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Lieve Vlaminckx. It is "Exhibit A-980" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

Antwerp, 19th July 1983

To whom it may concern,

I readily consent with all the people who would like Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh to stay in Oregon.

About two years ago Icame in contact with the Rajneesh meditation center in Antwerp. I followed a massage course there through which I released a lot of stress and sorrow.

As a teacher in language Iexperienced these last years a tremendous and growing amount of agression , restlesness and inability to focus attention in my students. The individual growth programs provided in the Rajneesh meditation centers bring me towards more inner rest in which the patience and insight grow to keep in touch with young people in an open and stimulating way, without fear.

The presence of Rajneesh centres throughout the world brings well-being to individuals and groups. Higher levels of conciousness, rest ,joy, friendship and peace are the results of the courses and therapies given under the impulse of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh.

Therefore it would be a pityful and agressive deed to refuse him his staying in Oregon. Since Bhagwan is a bringer of peace, his presence, his teachings and actions help individuals and nations to liberate themselves from blocks and agression.

(?)s sincerely,
Lieve Vlaminckx
