This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Luz Marie Brooks MA. It is "Exhibit A-470" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

To whom it may concern:

I’m a psychologist and Licencee in Psychology (e.g. M.A.) degree from the Catholic University of Chile. I have been a clinical therapist with private practice and a teacher of Personality Psychology and Applied Psychology for several years.

I got in touch with Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh’s works and teachings about three years ago. This experience has changed my whole approach to existence. Suddenly, whatever I knew about human mind and how to help people was clarified. It was like a dark room that got finally exposed to sunlight -Everything had now a meaning - And it wasn’t anything really new, it was rather that he helped me to get in touch with some old truth that had been always sleeping in some unknown layer of my being - He knows about human mind more than anybody else. He is the greatest psychologist I’ve ever come across.

He is a man of those very few that has been able to actualize his potentiality as a human being. As a religious master he has been able to show not only his own approach for inner growth but also the paths of the most important spiritual masters in the history of humanity. His knowledge is immense and his religious approach is a very wide one. He made available to the western contemporary mind the teachings of all ancient scriptures and masters of all times.

The meditations that Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh has developed constitute another example of how he unifies in a practical manner the psychological cleansing process to allow then the proper space for meditation which produces psychological harmony and growth.

It is difficult in his case to separate the religious master, the wise man, the psychologist, the poet.

He is one of the most outstanding men of this century and the United States of America can be proud to have him here.

Sincerely yours,
