This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ma Bodhi Pavitro (Camilla Tabbert). It is "Exhibit A-1327" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has 2 pages.

Oberstudienrätin

To whom it may concern,

I'm a functionary teacher, who has engaged himself on lifetime. The german expression of my degree is "Oberstudienrätin",which means, that I'm highly educated and gathered a lot of experience.

I'm teaching German,History and Politics for lo years. I have been trained by the Workshop Institute for Living Learning(WILL) for Interaction and Gestalt. I enjoy this kind of work and continued it, when I came to Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and started living in a german Ashram.

I came to Rajneesh during my search through groups for inner growth, where I met a lot of his disciples and came to know him through taped discourses and books. Since that time i recognized Rajneesh as a highly skilled and incredible loving being. He gave a lot of insights to me, which made me more and more able to come out of old patterns. Especially my work got profits out of it. He taught a new kind of understanding and seeing to me, which changed my relationships to the young people I teach completely. There were no trials anymore to impose knowledge or any kind of opinion on them. More and more I could see them as individualities on their own way of search. I feel myself more as a helper in learning, as an animator, who encourages them to learn more about everything. Teaching and learning becomes a play for both sides.

Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and his work to me is a chance for all people, who work with the other. His intelligence is that brillant and clear, which makes it possible, to share his experience with everybody. He is a multidimensional person, so that artist as well as scientists and psychologists can profit a lot from him. The United States of America gave home to a lot of beautiful men and genuises (f.ex.Albert Einstein) and to me it seems to be no point to let Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh stay the same.

My best greetings
